Yamaha TW200 - Alpine to Joshua Tree National Park

I had a beautiful ride today to Joshua Tree National Park and home.

Stats:

367 miles
11 hours
Average speed 46mph
Top speed 72.3 (wanted to see how fast she would go)
Best mileage – From Anza through Joshua Tree: 81.2mpg
Worst mileage – From Mecca home (hammered it up Banner Grade): 59mpg

Here is the basic GPS track:

Spot Adventures

And now for the pictures!

At Packard's waiting for my buddy Jim:

We got more snow this week in the Cuyamaca's:

Heading down the Pines to Palms Highway - San Jacinto Mountain:

A few shots as we descend into Palm Desert:

A few more shots of San Jacinto Mountain:

Heading out of Palm Springs looking West at Big Bear Mountain:

Another shot of Big Bear Mountain and some of the windmill generators along Highway 62:

Looking back at San Jacinto Mountain:

After lunch in Yucca Valley – Off to Joshua Tree National Park!

Check out that rock!

Heading down to Mecca we went through Box Canyon – This picture doesn't do it justice:

Then down the West side of the Salton Sea, to Borrego, up to Julian and though the Cuyamaca's home.

Last picture of the day:

It was an AWESOME day – The TW did great!

Thanks for looking!

Warren, great report. I didn't really appreciate my TW200 until I softened the rear spring and changed to a gallon larger tank.....but it is a perfect bike in sandy country.

I'm sure you knew where you were, but to keep others from being confused, as your sign in the pictures says that was the Joshua Tree Park. The forest is north of Kingman about 30 miles.
