I don't have a bike right now, followed this over from Expedition Portal. Awesome thread!

You guys have me thinking about getting a dual sport instead of spending a lot of $ upgrading my Jeep.

Well, if you're where you're suppose to be, the casino floats and the beer is free as long as you're feedin' the slots or tendin' you are.

I could spend half a day workin' the buffet in that place, the other half nappin'.

I saw that place...It's huge. I'll bet many a paycheck has been lost in there.

Enjoying the RR. Keep the pictures and the story coming. Enjoy the TAT for what it has to offer.

Remember, The TAT gives and it takes, but it always gives more than it takes. The mile of mud here in Oklahoma, may be a challenge yet, rains are keeping things interesting.

Vinnie,

Hunkered down watching the weather reports. Looks like you're getting (or got) pounded over there.

I do admit I have gotten a little frustrated with some of the closures which have obviously been known about for a very long time, but then, I guess this is all a part of the TAT charm.

I'm enjoying the people I've met just as much as the trail.

John

I think you're gonna need a chainsaw. This state is getting hammered with multiple tornados. Scotland, which is on the TAT, had three fatalities.

Scotland, AR

Just passed thru Scotland, AR. It was sealed off and I was turned back by the National Guard.

EDITED to include photos taken this afternoon about 1PM, just north of Scotland on the road to Clinton. This is what went thru Scotland, AR

Now in Clinton mooching some wifi to file this brief update.

The road from Scotland to Clinton had been cleared, but the power and force of the storm which passed thru there last night was clearly evident.

This sort of destruction and loss of life makes me think about the uncertainty of all our lives and the insignificance of my little TAT adventure.

My thoughts are with those in Scotland, AR.

The storm was crazy last night.. In deed. Two years ago, at this time it ripped through Clinton... It was nuts. It took bunch of houses and trees down along Hwy 65.

Earlier Today in AR

Rolled out early to find water, water every where...Water in the fields.

Water from other fields...

Water on the roads and snakes swimming on the roads. I didn't flip them over to see if they were little girl or little boy snakes, but they all looked like Black Water Moccasins to me.

1st Closure of the day...metal barrier, gravel turn around.

Unable to find a Mom and Pop, I pulled over at the top of a small mountain into an almost level site which was not Posted and brought out my Gourmet Kitchen Unit.

ProBass Jet Boil with noodles on the boil. Note: The secret to good Ramin Noodles is (a) only use half the seasoning in the little packet, (b) add red pepper flakes and (c) be hungry. The red pepper flakes make your nose run, so you know the noodles have to be good.

Scenic Noodle Overlook. After all traces of my ever being there were removed, I continued. I hadn't eaten in over 24 hours and those noodles really hit the spot.

Near BeBe as the Utility Crew fixed this downed line, I got out and spoke to a man and his wife who were standing next to a wad of twisted chain link fencing, "We had a dog in there and she lived. She had seven puppies and they were all blown away, but she found all of them."

The rest you can see in the photos posted above which were taken outside of Scotland.

John
