Thanks, I have looked at several different types but I have been unable to find any that are flat and oval shaped like the Sena mic. All of them are small and round like in the auction you posted. I did actually find the sena microphone sponge this morning, they have it in a kit with a few other items.

Dealing with Sena support is a little frustrating, but they're granting me an RMA. It's just time consuming. I started the process on Wednesday, and they invariably reply to my emails at the end of their day (they are in California, and I'm in Michigan). At this point, it looks like I'll need to send them my mounting bracket via the RMA process (still waiting on a number), and they'll send me a replacement. I'll have to wait until Monday for the RMA code, then send it on Tuesday. Overall, I'm guessing two to three weeks without the convenience of in-helmet intercom, music, and phone.

Moral of the story... there may be a fault in the plastic mounting bracket. Check yours for cracks before it breaks. I was lucky that the bluetooth unit fell off the helmet when I wasn't riding, or else I would have been left with pretty much nothing.

I'll post an update when the whole issue is resolved.
It took a few weeks, and quite a lot of back-and-forth, but I received the replacement parts for the SMH-10. It's all installed in the helmet and working again. If you have to deal with an RMA through Sena, and you're in a hurry, I'd recommend calling them. Start-to-finish, it was a little over three weeks to resolve.

Are the batteries user replaceable on the SMH10? My wife is complaining of hers not holding a charge.

Charging

I haven't found any info on acceptable USB charging specs. I'm looking at a power socket, output 5v 1-2.1a. Is this ok? What is the acceptable voltage and amp. range? Thx

Adam,

Thanks to you and to Jeannette for a painless ordering process! I received my SMH-10 Dual at the end of last week, (along with a PDM-60) installed them in my and my wife's helmets, and we went for a ride this weekend. The intercom function worked great, the GPS is clear and loud, and the phone function works well too. The PDM-60 with the wiring kit was an excellent buy as well - I only hooked two things up to it right now, but I can already tell it's going to make wiring my new bike way easier than it was on my old bike. Great products, great service, thanks!

I ordered the SMH10 probably about a year ago. I really have enjoyed it so far. Finally getting ready to install the second one on my wife's helmet and I am thinking about getting the attachable boom mic kit. http://www.rocketmoto.com/index.php/...icrophone.html . Does the attached mic come off or do I need to buy something else too. We both have modular helmets and I would like to be done with messing with the mic.

Thanks,
Phil
