On your Nolan, the boom mic goes completely inside the helmet. It affixes to the hard inner styrofoam behind the cheek pad and the boom goes into the slot on the bottom front left side, where the Nolan mic is intended to come out. We do this all the time. Or perhaps I misunderstood what you said?

I found this neat how-to for installing the 10R in an N104: http://www.hondashadow.net/forum/53-...h-install.html

Kinda sold me on the 10R and N104 combo!

Hey Adam, the standard 10R speakers fit very neatly into the speaker locations in the Nolan N104 (designed for the N-Com install obviously), but I understand the Tork speakers have a larger diameter? Have you installed the Tork speakers in an N104? I'm tempted by the better quality you're mentioning, but not sure if they'll fit nicely?

They will fit. What I have done on several occasions, in various helmets is to remove the Tork's from their padded cover. This makes them about .7" (18mm) smaller in diameter, and .3" (7.6mm) thinner. Affix a small velcro dot to the back of the speaker's voice coil, and all's good. This allows for easier placement and alignment. In the Schuberth C3, where the speaker cutouts are no where near a human's ears, this makes all the difference between discomfort and shear pleasure.

So, don't feel compelled to use the soft covers is the speakers will be behind soft lining material in the helmet.

Phoned an order in this weekend and my friendly postman left me a package already!

Just installed the normal clamp but with the Tork speaker upgrade. Sounds great. May end up pulling the cover as mentioned since my placement doesn't align completely with the cutouts in my Shoei hornet.

Service from RocketMoto is stellar to say the least, and to get my order today defies logic.

Sena SMH10 - Inmate's Special GROUP BUY!

I got my 10R a couple of weeks ago and moved my 10 over to my wife's helmet. Just got back from a 2000 mile ride and I love the slimmer profile of the 10R. Yes, it took me awhile to adapt to the buttons as opposed to the knob but once you do it's no big deal. I mounted the battery under the rear edge of my Arai with no problem and I can't feel it with the helmet on.

The wires take some routing but are managable and I LOVE the small wired Mic as opposed to the boom Mic on my older unit. It was always getting in the way and I was never happy with where I'd put it. The only real issue I have is the junction where all the wires come together scrapes my ear putting on and taking off my helmet. My ear was a little raw after a couple of days of this. I'll have to see if I can bury it in the lining further or wrap it in electrical tape or something.

Rocketmoto - is it true I can upgrade the speakers on the 10R to the Torks speakers? I would have ordered the upgraded speakers when I ordered my 10R but I didn't think that applied to this unit. That's the one area that falls a little short is music sound quality. I assume I'd have to splice them into the existing speaker wires?

Thanks for the great service -- Scott

Edit - I ordered the Tork's speakers. Can't wait to try them out!

You can splice 'em in, but we suggest soldering them in, instead. We include an instruction sheet. If you're handy with a small tip, low-wattage soldering iron, it's a 10-15 minute job.
