Well, the surprise of the Trials bike went well. I told him he now has a big boy bike with a clutch, 'what's a clutch Daddy ?...you'll find out my son...'
Here are a few pic's: ![]() ![]() ![]() He fits the bike perfectly, balls of the feet when sitting on the bike. I think this bike will last him until he is at least 8 or 9 I hope (he's six now). More to come. |

He certainly fits the bike a little better than me. Maybe, just maybe at 6'1" and 105Kg it is time I upgraded to something just a little larger.

Seeing both Garthe's son and Possm on TY80's makes me doubly glad we were able to get the Dugans' Sherco .8 for Erin.

I will have to use a new process for me, 'the rolling restoration' process. No repaint frame, no shinny engine cases, etc. The restoration will be focused on the mechanical side ONLY. New cables, bearings, foot pegs, tires, etc. The good part is I have a now 1 years old son who will also get to ride it. So, the frame off work will have to wait until Aidan is done riding the bike. The real project is, 'What will Aidan's NEXT trials bike be'...

Brewus, I told Aidan ALL about you...I showed him this tread and what you guys do with your TY 80...He laughed...and said 'thats crazy'
I told him that I'd been looking for one of these TY 80's for over a year and that the are very rare and are a Vintage motorcycle...'Daddy..., does that mean that my new trials bike is rarer than my multi colored Silly Band????'. Yes son, it is... |

Well, the NMTA boyz took the poor TY80 out this weekend to the Sandia Classic vintage motorcycle event and entered the League in the event to all take turns riding the TY through the vintage sections. I can't believe that little Yammie is still in one piece despite the rear flat that ended the days riding. They still finished with it and had another great day of riding!!
Brewtus... ![]() MooMoo ![]() Hammer... ![]() Fearless... ![]() And a few more... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Poor, poor little TY.

Yeah, the flat ended our ride with 4 sections to go. Bummer.
![]() Hammer clicking "5"s for the remaining sections. The rest of the League went back to the pits to shut down the beer concession before the awards ceremony. ![]() Bulletproof little bikes. Too bad the inner tubes aren't......

I took my daughter to spectate at a local trials event yesterday. We ended up leaving with this:
![]() I've been looking for one for years now - never actively shopping, just keeping an eye out. This is the first I've stumbled into one for sale in person. Just couldn't resist. Hard to see, but she's balancing on her own in the pic. She's probably already better than me. |
