I carry my auto, 9mm or .32 depending which one I pick up, in the right hand pocket of my stich. I put my North American Arms .22 mag in my boot.

How do you carry your gun while riding?

Anyone have any proven solutions on how to safely and confidently carry a handgun on your adv/dirt bike or on your person?
Do hip holsters work?

Thanks

Strong side, behind the hip. I don't in general like off-body carry, like tankbag or backpack. It stays with me and I don't have to transfer it if I get off the bike.
Haven't fallen on it yet, but my ride carry is a Kahr CW40, not too big but I'm sure it'll leave a hell of a bruise.

There is at least one good, long thread about this.

In one of these:

http://www.blackhawk.com/product/%E2...ch,124,111.htm

I slide it forward so it is on the front of my thigh and sort of sits in my lap as I ride. Hangs from my belt, secured with one or two straps around my leg. It seemed to be the only place to carry something where I would be unlikely to land on it in a get off. It is discrete as well.

BMW adventure jacket has an exterior pocket at the lower back that worked great. The back armor was between the pocket and my body in the event of a get off.

Don't do it anymore, since I now live in NJ.

I carry a small .357 J frame IWB using the small belt on my Klim Traverse pants. I carry IWB for work and off duty, so it works for now, but I can see where a good quality shoulder holster would work great. I've gone down in dirt and its never begin the way. Hip holsters may work, but I don't like to advertise that I'm carrying.

I guess in reality it's just a fancy fagbag, but I own one and ride with it.

I have the same bag. Have used it as a camera case at multiple school events and have never had anyone raise an eyebrow. The family & friends are so used to it that no one ever asks whats in it.

Well the"fag bag" is how I carry and have been since the 80s, didn't know it was a fashion show thing. I don't mind if folks think I am out of fashion (ain't that a sign of queer eye anyway?)...don't worry about folk knowing I am armed either. That's because LEOs and criminals are generally the only ones who will know what time it is. LEOs are not a problem (because I carry legal) and if the bad guy knows I am armed the odds of him deciding to cause problems is greatly reduced. It happens to be the best and most comfortable way to CCW on my moto (or anywhere else) and damn the fashion police anyway.

Oh and I have crashed while wearing them to no ill effect. Pretty rare to belly flop though I did roll while carrying a Sig 220 and two spare clips in one.

Border guards won't let me bring bear spray across the border. But I can buy it when I get there. That's just wrong.
