CHAIR FORCE!! Hey now, I loaded bombs and missles on
aircraft at -40. That my friend did NOT include any furry parkas
or chairs…… (;
BTW it looks like a very capable bike. Did you see the 99 Tiger for
CHEAP on Craigslist?

Happy Trails Panniers

This a pair of Teton panniers 10.5"&9" and mounting kit came off my R100GS. There is one small spot of wrench rash in the powdercoat in one box from a loose wrench but otherwise in great shape. I promise I wrecked the bike AFTER I removed the panniers. I need $350 for food until I can work again. I'm in Anchorage now.

Do you think they might be adapted to fit TOURATECH racks on an F800gs ?

BestRest backplate & backrest for R1200GS

I've been saving these planning to modify the rest to fit an HP2 so my wife might be more comfy back there. Since buying it I've had occasional flashbacks of how she thinks I have a screw loose and doesn't ride back there, comfy or not. It'd take a cereal bowl full of valium to ride slow enough for her to approve of so the backrest goes in the wind and I'll move on to thinking about stuff that's actually possible.

They're used and in xlnt condition. The plate fits over the tool section and installs in place of the pillion seat on a 12GS. It's intended for solo riding only in this configuration although you could put the rest on a different plate mounted behind the pillion seat if there's somebody that might ride behind you. It's the backrest and the backplate, complete w/ the hdwe you need to put the two together. Here are the links for the new stuff off of the BestRest site:

Backrest

Pillion Plate

Don't know exactly which generation of product they are but not the current offering. Mine are $225 for the pair.

I'll leave 'em on the local section for a few days and then toss 'em on the big board if they don't move to a local. Assuming you're somewhere between Girdweed and The Valley I can either meet you in town or toss 'em in a pack and ride out your way. Shoot me a PM if interested.

How much more hardware would it take to make this a pillion rest? (Mrs. Mud likes her backrest...)

Probably none if you've already got a flat plate behind Mrs. Mud's seat. IIRC there are four SS nuts and bolts already on the baseplate for the backrest and you might need to drill four corresponding holes in whatever camping type plate you've got back there now. I think that'd be it.

I have CroMagnon fab skills but still figured this one would be a cakewalk before I realized it wouldn't matter if I pulled it off or not. I'd rate it as one out of five bananas and doable w/out any add'l hdwe.

$25 discount for Mrs. Mud's coolness factor.

She's a little disappointed that her CF was only worth an 11% discount...I'll let you take that up w/her.

I think I'll pass for now, probably regret it at some point though....

It was a combined coolness factor. Hers was way high but when I averaged it out well, something unexpected happened. Sorry man. Figures lie and liars figure. I ran 'em twice and was rootin' for you but mostly for her!

Bad news though.

The regrets can start now because it's heading out of state this afternoon!

There'll be a mint ATK and some other cool stuff up in the next few days. Might even toss a car or two up here along w/ a ton of other stuff. Make an offer on anything if you feel like it.

2006 Triumph Tiger for sale

06 Tiger 955i w/ 26000 miles. $5000 w/o TT Zegas $5500 with bags.
573-528-5212

Touratech engine bars, polished skid plate, headlight guard, radiator and oil cooler guard, and bag mounts. Barkbuster hand guard, Denalli LED lights, AME heated grips, and more stuff I can't think of.

I flushed the brake fluid, new oil pan, 02 sensor, radiator cap, Mitas E07 rear and TKC 80 front in the spring. 4000 miles on above stuff. I have new brakepads front and rear. Didn't need them in the spring. Scheduled for full service at Triumph shop. I replaced the 02 sensor since the exhaust was off to replace oil pan. Header was ceramic coated.

I have put 10,000 miles on it since I bought Aug 2011 from El Dorado Cycles in Missouri. Only bad is I nicked the rear wheel installing the SUPER stiff rear tire, and a slightly bent gear shift. I did that loading on the trailer when I bought it. Never load a bike on a trailer after riding 700 miles in the rain.
