valuable tool, but always use the owners manual to be sure the numbers are correct.

I am running 12-57 gearing. The 12 was an OEM part, the 57 was custom. As was the chain guide to fit the 57. And a really long chain.
It's overkill, but I like it. I still have to slip the clutch to climb really steep hills, but now there's actually a point to sometimes taking it out of first on singletrack. |

Thanks for the input. The dealer (Central Jersey Cycles, has been in the Husqvarna business for 17 years and is really helpful and knowledgeable) tells me to put some more miles on it and it will smooth out at about 700 miles or so. I'm going to have him put a 47 tooth on the rear along with the 13 tooth on the front, will also help it run smoother at slow speed.

2012 te 250
Just picked this up today from a private party. It only has 50 miles on it, hasn't even had the first service done yet.

My '11 310 was 264lbs with a full tank of gas, no turn signals, big ass bark busters, some mud, and steering dampener.
My '07 610SM was 318 with full tank (1.2 gallons more), lighter pipe (3-4lbs), no passenger pegs, no turn signals, no bark busters, nice seat. On and 500lb digital, industrial scale.

Not a 2T but to add more to the 4T weight answer, my TE310 weighs 266 ready to race with a full tank.

I'm considering a 2012 TE250. Can you guys tell me about vibration. Is there a lot of vibration in the bars and footpegs? For comparison, I ride a SM610 Husky, a KLX250s, a WR250X, Honda CRF230L, and BMW X-Country. If you've ridden any of those, a comparison (in regards to vibration) would be helpful.

i went from 2009 klx 250s to a 2010 te250. my TE is setup totally for the woods (52 rear sprocket for example), so I think my comparison is convoluted. but the TE is no where near as comfortable on the road as the klx. that said, i would never go back. my TE vibrates through my body at 45 mph, but then again, on the trail it is a tank. when on the trail with the klx, i felt like i was always struggling, and also beating the crap out of it all the time.

Some buzz at speed on tar, from 45 MPH and up. But again it's not a road bike. The seat would be a problem long before the vibration. Off road it is fantastic!

With 13/50 I'm at 7000-7200 rpm at 50mph. Gps speed. I'm gonna play with it tomorrow and try to drop it about 800-1000rpm. Motor seems much, much calmer at 6000rpm. Were going on a 5 day moto-camping trip and there will be more dirt Rd involved and 7200rpm all day gets old. I have: -12, 13 front -40, 45, 50 rear Will go either 12/40 or 13/45 for this ride at least. Can always go back lower. I almost bought a 610 again for this ride but im determine to get 10 more mph out of the 310 (and a new seat ) and it will be the perfect dual sport for me. I care 0 about riding 200 miles a day on 2lane slab. Just need to cruise at 50mph 30minutes to the trail. We see......
