Drz 400 Chain Lengths - Need Info

I would like to know if anyone has experimented with different sprocket combos and made a note of how many chain links each combo uses? I want to swap between my motard wheels (15/41) and dirt wheels (14/47) and would prefer using one chain. Any thoughts?

which model do you have? S or SM?

you can do a 14/44 and 15/41 with a stock SM chain which i believe is 110 links.

What i do is:

13/44 for dirt
16/40 for SM.
Uses the same chain, i just swap the front sprocket.

I have both an E and an S. I want to use both for enduro plus a comfortable 100 kph on the highway. But also use the S for extended touring at around 120 kph. Was thinking 15/47 for enduro and 15/41 on the factory motard 17" wheels for extended touring. Hoping that will give me reasonable versatility.
Any ideas welcome.

Stock chain length for 15/44 is listed as 112... that does not work with 14/48... too short. AMHIK.

114 does the trick for both.

On my S, with dirt wheels I run 15/47 and with SM wheels 15/44, both with the factory 112 link chain. 15/41 wouldn't work (chain too long) but 14/48 should work fine.
