Nice to see Nutzy out and about.

In the past two months, Nutzy has only had two handlers though. He really
needs to move about a bit faster to keep everyone engaged in the game. You
say he will be headed for Bike Week? Sounds great, have a great time.

I would have dropped him earlier, but with Bike Week right around the corner, I figured that would work out well.

Eek game intent...

Guys, I undestand the desire to drop in a "cool" spot, but the intent of the game is to move Nutzy thru as many states as possible.....waiting a month to drop him in the same state, when you have perfect riding weather year round, ain't really following the "intent"...
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...15&postcount=1

so maybe a mini-day ride, crossing a state border, might just be conducive to the intent...

+1 I'm going to be heading down to the SC border tonight. If anyone's interested in placing it in a reachable spot...by tomorrow it could be Tennessee.

I'm going to register a gripe here. Just did on the North American Tag board as well.

If the idea behind these games is to keep the tag moving...why isn't it moving? I understand that bike week may seem like a cool place to drop the tag but there is a country full of people here who probably aren't going to bike week and would rather be riding instead of waiting for it to be dropped there.

I find myself with a week free to do some distance and both this tag and the NA tag are being held in what I would consider to be unnecessarily long bondage without even daily or regular updates to their "ride reports".

Come on. Let's get this thing moving. It's spring time in much of the country. No need to let Nutsy sit in someones house any longer when he could be feeling the fresh breeze of a ride.

I'm going to suggest here the same thing I suggested on the NA thread...setting limits on how long a tag can be held by the tag grabber.

Hanging onto a tag this long while not riding is, imho, not in the spirit of the game.

Excuse my rant. I've got 7 days free and no tags to go get.

Talking Turn the poor little bastard loose

I agree, the game it to pick it up and drop it. Not romance the NUT.

I can understand a week because two weekends of riding could be involved in the pick up and drop off.

It took me a long time to string together enough days to go get it him. While I was trying to find a few days in a row he managed to get within one day of me.

If I stared this post with "I agree" does it mean I am whining and breaking the rules?

TAG ON!

David

Well with my 7 days in a row free I had hoped to go after one of the tags in the bigger game...with 7 days a person can easily ride coast to coast.

Unless this comes available today I'll have to resign myself to only getting our state tags and the wild card games this week.

My wife says..."what the hell, quit hogging the tag". I'm glad she supports my addiction.

Let's just hope someone doesn't get the idea in their head that it "has" to go to Sturgis. My feeling on these things is that if the tag makes it to an event or place, it makes it. If not, it doesn't. Let the great flow of motorcycle chi decide, not one person on one bike who doesn't seem to be riding and who has the wherewithal to hang onto it for an abnormally long time.

To the guy who has the tag -> just put it under your mailbox. It'll be picked up within a day. Thanks.

There. Said my piece. I'm sorely disappointed in this situation.

The Woeful Tale of a Visit to Florida.

(This is the wife of the current holder of "The Nut")

I started innocently enough with the pick up at the FL line. Big plans were made to move him along, including a meetup with some other ADV riders traveling through the area. He was going to go along with me while I worked with the Florida Supreme Court in Tallahassee but, alas, I forgot to grab him as I walked out the door.

We all know that old saying about the road to hell being paved with good intentions? How about that that other saying, "Shit Happens"?

Combine a string of bad circumstances and you get to where we are now.

Mr. Nut has been to work, helped my mom in law move (not because she WANTED to but, because she had too), been to Miami (unexpected because of going to pick up a new car after mom in law was hit and totalled hers).

The last picture we had of him was on the balcony of our hotel on North Miami Beach enjoying the sunset.

Then he went missing.

Trust me, Mr. Ego has been very distressed about this, to the point of me wanting to punch him last night when he kept insinuating it was MY fault he was gone. (How dare he).

To pacify him today, I told him "Fine, I'll check my purse" all the while thinking there's no way...

low and behold...yeah, you know where this is going.

I brought him to my classroom, told my kids about his travels, fitting because I teach Geography, and snapped this picture of them and the Nut, promising they would be famous on the internet.

We will be heading out tonight and promise to place him by tomorrow. We'll add some goodies to the box for his travels and for holding him up.

I'm also going to enclose my address, and ask that, if you've got the time, that maybe you send a postcard to my class. (If not, it's all good)

Thanks for your patience, life has not been the calmest the last few weeks and we (especially me) are sorry for holding up the game.
