Question Which topbox is this?

Anyone know? Pic is from JVB's site (http://www.jimvonbaden.com/JVB_Productions.html). Looks like a nice, compact box. Thanks.

JC Whitney, I have two in my garage. If you were close I would give it to you.

It runs about $45 plus cheap shipping.

I painted the orange part and added reflective tape under the reflector.

Great info - thanks Jim! Turns out it was a good thing I posted the pic in this thread, because the Emgo one you showed me in the PM was different. That looks like a nice one, too - maybe a bit taller? http://www.amazon.com/Emgo-72-32440-...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Anyhoo - still trying to decide whether the whole trunk idea is the best way to go or not.

Pros
= nice backrest for wifey when we go two-up on road trips
= for around town use, can leave off saddlebags, keeping bike narrow (good for lane splitting here in Cali); and still have secure storage capacity on the bike
= very cost-effective compared to Vario top case or others

Cons
= may not hold as much as top-loading, 50 litre dry bag strapped onto back
= doesn't match my Varios
= funky look (?) (not sure about that - I'm sure I'd get used to it).

Dunno - anyone else have $0.02 on using these?

I have one. Its cheap and looks like it but it works and has been waterproof. I dont like the mount plate though.

Correct on all counts. I like the mount plate on my Emgo because it is plastic and stiffer than the metal one, but both work.

As for which to get, the JC Whitney bag is bigger by far, and about the same height as my Emgo. I changed them because my side luggage opens end to end and would hit the JCW's wider profile, and I like the Emgo better.

For anyone wonder what an Emgo is.

You can see my issue with the wider top case. Pardon the angles of the side cases, they were not yet aligned.
