Duy, it looks like the KLR bolts may be the same as the ones on my Husky. (M8 x 25mm) I can bring you up some extras I have from Hillco that they claim are stronger than grade 8.

read up on the footpeg bolt upgrade on "klr650.net" and do it

it's not a matter of if it will happen to you, but when it will happen to you.

i think there is a picture play by play on "mark.net".

basically you need to cut the footpeg bolt "box" off, take out the nuts that the factory have and weld larger and harder nuts:ymcain and weld the "box" back on. you'll now be using larger bolts to hold the footpegs on and they won't break.

grinder96 helped me and it was a 2 beer job

if your KLR is bone stock, there are A LOT of upgrades yr bike needs.

PM me and i'll go over them so this doesn't turn into a KLR upgrade thread.

hi everyone else! i wanna ride. like now. keep up the reports and videos! they keep me going!

All this talk about nuts and "boxes" have me all confused

I think I'll take care of that once I get back from this weekend's ride. I need practice with the TIG welder anyway.

Eric, thanks for the offer but it looks like I need to stop @ Hillco anyway since I need the nuts along with the bolts along with some other things.

The new pegs were installed and I rebuilt the forks last night so who's ready for the weekend?

I'll level with ya: it takes a lot less than a fork rebuild for me to be ready for the weekend!

Seriously! He has at least two bikes more than me! But I was hinting at mentally ready, not bike prep ready! Monday morning at 9:01 am I'm ready for the weekend!

Free Bike

I'm posting this here, so you guys get first dibs.

A friend of mine has a 1974 Honda CB750 he wants to give away. The bike has always been garaged, but has not been run for over 10 years. The gas tank has sludge in it, same with the carbs. The tires are flat, and the seat is distressed. Otherwise it is in good condition. And the price is right. Contact me if interested. The bike is in Upland.

I'd like it but I already have a RD350 I don't have money to put into.
