subject change

spent last week showing my kids some nature,
floating down the Snake River,
looking back up river
Idaho on the left (along with a herd of Bighorn Sheep in the bushes) and Washington on the right

Will be sorry when things turn and they are S.O.L. renters for ten years

You can't change the world... Just the world you live in.
Agree with most of what you're saying, but I've spent quite a bit of time in Europe (one trip was 2 1/2 months) and spent five weeks in NZ. Our family also has property in Eastern Canada, New Brunswick. Every time I go to Canada, Italy or Portugal, I never want to come home. Canada is economically stable (but high unemployment), the others not so much, but still don't want to come home.

Another thing that changed it all for me, was when it actually became a reality that before I retire, there will most likely be nothing left in the bank to pay me and my wife SS that we have been paying into for over 30 years. Where the fuck did my money go. We'll survive without it, but most of the country that got scammed won't. And don't give me this Obama this and Obama that bullshit. The demise of this began over forty years ago and has been perpetuated by every Congress and every President since then. Now I don't have a problem with them doing away with stuff like this, they just need to be sure that everyone who has paid in SO FAR, gets what they deserve. If we know we can't rely on the government to keep their end of the bargain, then we'll make other plans. They just need to be honest with society. Sorry, I know, Honest and Government don't belong in the same sentence.
Ask a native american what he thinks of this! Look at what the government taking care of you does to a proud people. Spend some time on the res. Yes, leave the casino and actually go oout onto the reservation and see what our govenrment has done to them.

The government is GOOD at only one thing DEFENSE. Happy to discuss my feelings further in person, I don't want anything in print to bite my ass later.

I just got home from Australia, NZ, Hong Kong and lastly the Philippines, was in Manilla during the massive flood that had 800,000 people homeless and thousands dead. Wasn't covered much on US news, just another flood in some 3rd world country... Cut my trip short and couldn't even make it to the shop to pick the rental bike in Manilla, not for lack of trying.
When you see first hand how people live, how there's no government resources to come save people, etc. you might think a little different about how great we have it in the USA. While I don't care for many things our Big Brother does or has done, hate the twisted evil church's influences on laws, etc. there's not one of the 20+ countries I've been in, many for extended time, that I would rather live in then right here in the USA, in Southern California.

I say go ride and enjoy our country's scenery, feeling safe knowing if something bad happens you can push you SPOT 911 and some professional team will come save you, taking to some of the best hospitals in the world. Safe water everywhere, endless resources, plenty of open space for all to enjoy. I've ridden every state and province in NA and have only touched the surface of what's out there. No need for me to get all worked up over things out of my control, I'd rather use my energy getting a bike up a mountain or across the plains.
Let the people who have nothing better to do in their life than push some agenda and bicker over things, the rest of us can live our life how we see fit, pay our taxes, and RIDE!

Americans don't travel enough.
Not enough vacation time!

It's amazing how people's perspectives change once they see how easy we have it here and how the one's with the least give the most.

You don't even have to go that far outside of this country to see it.
