any of you guys ever own one?

since my main rides now are my two trials bikes I was thinking of getting a small van..the astro/safari dont seem to get better then a truck but I hear the 3.0 Aerostar does pretty good like mid 20's ? any truth to this ?

I found a super clean low milage one locally on the cheap..going to go take measurements today to make sure both can fit in at same time.. If this thing can pull 22 mpg I may pull the trigger.
We had a '93 for 14-15 years and got around 15 city, 20 hwy. They're not real easy to work on, but they have the removable engine cover that helps. The 3.0 is reliable but doesn't have alot of balls and will do the job, but haulin bikes may be a different story. Also, the transmissions are pretty weak. Did you find one with the rear barn doors?

Check the FTE website... http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/index.php I never understood why the FTE Aerostar community thinks these are the best things since sliced bread.

huskys... look cool... I don't like dirt bikes with
FI fuel pumps in the gas tank and computer maps
I just put over $ 600 in the gas tank on my 690 New pump etc...

I've got close to 30, 000 miles on fuel injected bikes with no problems big enough to have me worried.
I'm asking more in terms of performance and handling.

Sounds like you were bit by a 990? I have 35K on my FI bike. Temps from the teens to 108, altitude from -100 ft to almost 13K feet. Not a single issue.

Now watch I will try to start it tomorrow and it won't start.

Maybe not but the flash flood of my tears would devistate the terrain to the low desert communities and beyond....

Good call. Our Aerostar did us good for about 13 years then it was one thing after another and it became a pain in the a$$. And that was with only a little over 100K miles.
