and lithium batteries last forever.

I have found that the Lithium batteries would last 5 or 6 days of riding and they are expensive to replace. And yes I am thinking about having wires coming out of my spot, still working out how I would work the spot. Back on the bike?

During the winter I am already wired to the bike, so would another be a big deal? I dunno, still thinking through all of the pros and cons. I doubt that it would work for riding single track, this is more of a "cruising fire roads" type of application.

The biggest con is sending the bike AND your SPOT off a cliff, while you are laid out and injured to the point where you can't get down to the bike. Then the bike battery dies and you are screwed.

I heard their biggest concern was who would get to sleep in the wet SPOT.

Curious about the suspension. Doesnt look like a whole lot of travel has been added. Cool knobs, never seen them that aggressive in that size.
Circa '90s?

Which spot are you running? I am running Spot 2. The labels on the Spot 2 claim 4 days of tracking.

Spot 2's were recalled due to unacceptable battery usage. They apparently think they are ok now, but never as good as the 1's

Bob, you might check your serial # with them for confirmation of updates.

They were worried about battery life on 911 notification not tracking.
