Vstrom home paint job.

I used a Harbor freight detail spray gun and a single stage Enamel. It came out pretty good considering my experience with this kind of stuff (none).

Is it just me, or do they all appear to be in Russia?

Pissed

Received my first speeding ticket in CA a few weeks back, 60 in a 45 on Mulholland just west of Kanan road. I'm new to the area so I'm assuming it was a standard speed trap that locals know all about....I wish I knew that Mulholland is pretty lame compared to almost every road in Angeles National Forest so I would never have to be all touristy and give it a shot.

Anyway, my options are...

1 - $312 fine including night school
2 - $248 fine with no night school
3 - appear and fight it in court.

Since I can do night school and not worry about insurance increasing and can avoid taking time off to go to court I'm leaning towards option 1. However if there is a chance I can pay less by appearing and being all sorry-like I'll take the sick day and give it a shot. Of course hiring a lawyer is likely more expensive than the damn ticket/night-school.

Any suggestions???

I did online traffic school in about 45 minutes.

I got stopped both up and back to Laguna Seca last year... 87 in a 55 and 85 in a 65. The first one was a warning, the second was for 74 in a 65 so I could do traffic school. If it's more than that in Kern county you can't do traffic school. So, nice cop I guess. Those chips are such nice young boys these days.

Cost me almost $400 but it saved me $700 to $900 on my insurance. Been lucky since...the tiger is plenty fast.

The one time I got a speeding ticket, I went to court. Not to fight it, but to ensure I did not get points. I didn't try to BS the judge and did not deny it, but I did point out my exemplary driving record with no tickets or accidents, and used that as leverage to have the ticket reduced from 15 mph over to a non moving violation (i.e. no points). The fine was $100 (in Michigan) but that was a bargain as nothing would ever show on my driving record and therefore no insurance increases. That is your goal, no insurance increases. Just dress nice, be polite, and don't try to feed them the excuses that they hear on every other case.

Thanks. It looks like 15 and over is serious, otherwise I may just have gotten a $100-150 fine, but 300+??? It says exactly 60 in a 45 so I'm trying to see if the guns are 100% accurate or can be off +/- 2mph. I'll probably do the dress nice apologize and admit guilt and plead for a lesser fine and take the school. I guess my question is, unless I'm a total asshole, if I go to court and use the argument the gun isn't calibrated or they are not entirely accurate can the judge actually fine me more than above or is that the ceiling? First time dealing with this, thanks.
