1967 Hare and Hound Race

Bruce Brown - I think some of it got used in the On Any Sunday movie, but this is raw footage, about 30 minutes worth, so pull up a chair and grab a beer...and enjoy!

I was only 10 years old in 1967 so it's a little bit before my time. And I grew up in the PNW and we used only read in the magazines about desert racing in so-Cal. This was LONG before the 'internet'. We did have a similar kind of event up there in eastern Washington though, maybe some of you have heard of 'Mattawa'.

Watching it sends a few shivers down my spine, it's like watching the roots of our sport. And makes me laugh about all the banter on the bike forums about which footpeg, or cushy seat, or particular spring for our forks we should add. These guys raced bikes that were not anywhere even close to what we have today - they just rode them. I'd say they were 'hardcore'.

Chris Brown. My shoulders and lower back were a little sore from yesterday. After watching the film am not complaining one bit. Now am thinking of going out riding this weekend.

Ha, yep. That will go away after much seat time. Really depends on how much whoops riding is involved.

Some of it yesterday was LAB2V tracks.

Pissed

For fuck's sake, can someone please help me?

I'm trying to pay my fucking ticket online and don't understand my options. I want to pay and sign up for traffic school, but my options only seem to be one or the other. Nobody will answer my questions, I keep getting transferred to people that can't help me, and the main number is automated and "due to budget cuts there is no operator to assist me". Hard to understand there are cuts when they are racking it in hand over fist on this shit...

anyway, here are my options on the website. If I choose 1 does that include the $238 for the ticket and the remaining $74 is traffic school amount? Or do I have to pay both of these fucking things? god dammit!

1 - Traffic School Payment - The amount due is $302.00 plus a e-Public Access service fee* of $10.00 will be added to this amount. The traffic school due date will be 03/13/2014.

2 - Full Payment to Close Your Citation - The amount due is $238 plus a e-Public Access service fee* of $10.00 will be added to this amount.

3 - Court Date Reservation for Arraignment Only - No Trials - Select a time preference below.

Sounds like option 1 is what you need. That should cover the ticket and the traffic school eligibility fee.
Keep in mind there will still be an additional fee that you'll have to pay to the traffic school itself.

I am pretty sure, but I am not a lawyer nor do I work for the LA Superior Court system. Also did not stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

my question is.....have you filed an extention then do a trial by declaration?

LA superior court is so back logged you can spend a year expending all your options before having to show up in court. you stand a much better chance officer won't show or you can ask for reduction in fines then attend traffic school.

I just extended as the first appearance this morning and I have too much at work going on. I'll see if I can extend again prior to my next date in March. not a bad idea...
