Always be heads up, riding area or any rural area this time of year. That phucker was pissed @ me after my first miss with the spaded shovel, LONG handle of course. Second strike right behind the head got em. Even after chopping his head off his mouth was still in biting mode, it was crazy. Being so close to the house really had no choice, kids, dog, cat etc.

990 ADV sub-frame broke. If anybody has info either on a good shop that can Tig/mig a repair and re enforcement of a rear subframe, or any info on a used replacement around please PM me.

It is broke pretty much in the same place as some of the SE's have broke. Right after the doubler towards the rear.

Thanks man, this is really messing up a couple of trips. I think I know exactly when this happened, was on the Big Bike Mojave ride we did like last November I think. Sounds crazy but I remember the erosion ditch that we hit then. Bike has had some symptoms since then but it is clear now lol. The wolfman racks have been holding everything together.

Fought the squids today, went to Newcomes for their 75th. By 9am easy 100+ bikes and plans for a lot more to show up.

Thanks to DSM8 for the welding work today. The rack is bitchin'!

Shawn,
Thanks for the heads up and helping with this. Picked up the repaired subframe from Charlie yesterday and got the bike back together last night. I owe you some beverages next time.

Hey you goons, looking for a long lasting tire for my 530. Been running the Scorpions for a while now and I am fine with the offroad performance but they get chewed up in short order on pavement stretches. Anybody used the Scorpion Rallye tires or something else beefy worth trying for a non-heavy ADV bike. Need good knobs for the trails but still some rugged manners for the pavement sections. Been down the trials tire route and liked them, they lasted forever, but looking for a full knob option that might actually last for more than five hundred miles. Maxxis ITs worked ok but they are not DOT... willing to go non-DOT if it is worth it, but the IT's didn't deliver enough mileage to justify risking a DOT ticket.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Running scorpion rally pro f.i.m. on my 525 and it's holding up really well. Best rear I've run on the bike is the Michelin desert racing, not DOT though.
