Yeah, that dumb-ass truck drivers shoulda knew that somebody on a bike might be bangin' a "U-y".

ALWAYS.......................ALWAYS, blame the car/ truck driver, because we're motorcycle riders and we NEVER fuck-up.

ROM, glad you're in good spirits and I'm sure you'll heal up lickety-split and be riding soon!
What kinda bike you gonna get next?

Maybe a KLR so I can stay the hell off the paved roads...

How accurate are police reports s'posed to be? I just got mine and found directions of travel wrong and the diagram wrong. Called the Bonneville County SO and they said the responding deputy is off 'til Friday and that I should call Monday. They also said that there's a 10 day window to file the report

Called the insurance dude to point 'em out too...

How hard is it to make the little drawings point in the right directions???

sometimes they need the fat crayons and all they have are the little skinny ones.

Heal up fast. Glad you're still around and kicking (well, in a manner of speaking...)

Get hit making a U-turn? Get a ticket. Was Boatboy clear of the construction zone yet? If not, AND if he was moving more rapidly than he should have been, you may have a chance to avoid buying a new grill for that Suburban, plus whatever else it's gonna need. On the liability front, your probable best case is shared liability. Otherwise, and a greater probability, its all on you.

Which, in the grand scheme of things, should be taken as a much better outcome than the alternative. U Turns are dangerous beasties. I know when I was driving the big rig, if we made a UTurn on a public road without specific direction from a LEO at the scene, we would lose our job. Of course, T-boning a 53' Box Van is a bit worse for the oncoming driver than whomping on a lit'l ol motorcycle, but the principle still applies. DANGER, DANGER.

It's good to see that you've survived, hopefully much wiser for the wear. I know I've done the same sort of thing myself, perchance next time I go to pull out of the wait line, I'll remember this and triple check oncoming traffic.

It depends on the HMO - mine used Harbor Freight.

Heal up and hair over rapidly!!!

Tell the nurse that took those pictures that she has done a lot to improve my awareness of U-turns & the possible consequences of M/C accidents. Gross - but the lesson is learned.

Heal quickly! Ride again! THX

In the meantime do you have any sources for cheap plastic for the ST?

Or would I be best off selling the mechanicals to Alex?

Those are some harsh pics, ROM. Glad you are on the mend...

Narcos = constipation...my littlest bro Daniel (who is a paraplegic) learned this very hard lesson. His entire bowel became impacted because of narcotics. Drink lots water, eat fiber.
