I thought you said you were going to keep this bike more as a street queen? First ride out you are treating her like an old whore! By the way if you think the bike is fun now wait till you slip on a set on real tires!

So having been pounding around on a 640 for the last few years, the 990 fuel range has me watching the trip meter like a hawk. Guess you have to take the good with the bad haul'n that extra cylinder around. So far I'm Ok with it. 60 miles into the forest and 60 back out I think I'll be fine.
A little drop in elevation, across a valley, through a mineral canyon and I start to get an urge for a egg salad sandwich.

From the road it looks like someone has thrown an old refrigerator into the hot creek

Think I'll jump the fence and have a look.

Nope, just a little arts & crafts geologist style. Wonder how much this little government project cost? Seems like the little creek was-a-already-a-goin-that-a-way. Oh well it goes so nice with the landscape.

Ok, looping around back to the west now........I need a steak, a and a........shower........ Gawd yes a shower!

As I climb out of the canyon I gain sunlight, gee it's not as late as I thought and I have another chance to look around.

Strange rocks in these parts.....

Great views and camp spots...............maybe next time.

have you noticed that all the nice shots have my bike in 'em! Give me a break....I got a hard-on for this thing right now...it'll pass .......or not

This may be my favorite. I'll remember this spot for sure.

Now I can see the hyw in the distance and I come across a paved road. The road can't make it through this canyon and I know it does'nt go through, but sometimes you just need to go to the end anyway. This kind of stuff drives my girlfriend crazy, " Why are we going down this road? " Just because.............

Some of you travelers may reconize this, it's the hot springs south of Mammoth. Local fisherman tell me it's been closed to swimming for 3 years now because the temp is on the rise. When I was a little shit my dad and I would jump in butt naked!........ and it has'nt effected me a bit...:ymca

Now just a place to dump stolen and vandlized moto-sport tour buses.

Whats-up with that ?

Well I've seen some spectacular stuff last couple days, but this may top my list...........

I gave the camp stewart 5 bucks for this shower..............tell the truth I'd a payed $20

Well a $35 dollar steak a glass a scotch and I'm head'n north to Bridgeport in the morning.......... more drunk friends fish'n up that way.

Try to make it up to Twin Lakes every year to fish and it's usually by way of a cage. This year/trip affords me the chance to explore a bit more. Road back to Mono Village is quiet a view and I get a different perspective this time around.
As far north as I make it this trip.

Solong for now.

A picture of you with the bike. Wow, it really is you! This whole time I thought someone had tried stealing your identity. First the name change. Then a big new bike. Then pictures. Then a story to go with the pictures. This is not the John that anyone knew. Did something happen to you in that hotel room in Death Valley?

Great ride and report by the way. And great looking bike. Looks like thats the way to do those long rides.
