I would live in one.

Slowly come down from the 15th floor while I finish getting ready for work.

I would yell at the people in the lobby to "get off my lawn!"

That's not much more space than you'd find in a truck camper with a cab over. I could handle that if, and only if, when I stepped out the front door I was in the wilderness. If instead I were to step out into a city I would slit my wrists on the first day.

"Personal space" has a different meaning in Japan (or China) than it does here. Remember, this is the country that has subway employees on the platform to jam the last people in so the doors can close.

Personal space in both Japan and Korea is defined as the space between your ears, for now . I can testify to the sizes of the apartments in Japan. I lived in one that was roughly twice the size of that and it cost me $2400 a month, and it was out quite a ways from the city. Commuting was hell

Wow. I've known people who love living in US cities and I always shake my head as to how anyone could live like that. Of course, the opposite is true as well, they look at how I like to live with space around me and they can't stand it. I guess Japan has just taken this to a new level, new for me, not for them.
