1150GS New Fork Seals and still leaking.

I replaced my fork seals for the first time on my 2000 1150GS and fork oil is still making it past the new ones. I totally disassembled the front end and cleaned everything out well, put new fork oil 470ml per side and replaced the seals and dust caps. Today I took my first ride on some very bumpy roads and the fork oil was running down the side of the forks (both sides). All I can think of is that I managed to install them upside down? I have them installed with the side that has a beveled shoulder facing down, is that backwards? Everything cleaned up very nicely and I bled the air out of the sliders with them up at the top triple clamp.

I installed the fork seals upside down.

This is exactly why I don't work on other peoples bikes/cars. At least it was just a $35 dollar mistake...

At least you won't do that again. Live and learn.
