Off the main trail

Thumpy, you're right, getting off the main fire roads and trails will get you in some tricky situations. Didn't mean to make it sound too easy.

I keep debating if I should take my GS up Shoe Creek. It's such a pig....

Hey we're practically homies..

Colonial Whites - the northern gateway to beautiful Petersburg! Why would anyone ever leave there? J/K I think Colonial Heights is a cool little town. Just mind the 35mph speed limit on the Boulevard and it's all good..

Poe's

Thumpy, do they still get a decent crowd of bikes? I havne't been up there in a couple years, but was thinking of catching the next one. Use to get a hundred or so bikes last time I was there.

Good question. I've played there but have never gone there for food ...

I suck at guessing numbers, but I'd say easily 50 and maybe a 100 or more when the weathers nice. It's 9am 2nd Sun/month. The best thing about it is it's not just another Harley/custom love fest. There's all kinds of weird/cool bikes. Last month a guy showed up on an old russian knock-off beemer/hack (pre-Ural) from the 40's w/ a machine gun mounted to the sidecar. cool stuff like that..

Let me know if any of y'all go. I'll try to make it too.

When you'all heading out to Romney? I have another decrepit airhead and I want to get some riding in before winter hits.

Lemme know. I figure if you are riding two up you won't have to wait quite as long for me at each turn .
