You lucky bastard.....

Hard to find too much fault if the bike only needs a battery BUT there were recalls for cracked rims (cracks between the spokes) and cracked exhaust crossover pipe. If it's got a ton of mileage and won't run then you have to wonder a bit about how it's going to run when you do get it running although 100K on a WELL MAINTAINED Guzzi engine isn't unusual.

You could probably part it out and make a few bucks too....

You lucky bastard.....

I havent posted here before. I have a 2000 Quota that I have had since Feb 2001.
I love the bike it does everything I ask of it. It currently is getting some upgrades. Lights, suspension, fuel system mods.
My hobby is creating exhaust systems for the Quota. Done at least 6 different complete systems over the years
If any one needs exhaust parts for the Quota. I can make parts or a complete 2 in to 1 system for the Quota. Guaranteed not to crack. Attached is the current iteration on my bike.

Love your exhausts, Price!

I'd sure like to have one on my Nero Corsa!

Just wondering if anyone here has used the MRA shield from Twisted Throttle. I'm not looking for a giant shield but just a little more protection in the chest area.

That does look interesting, and at $105 not totally unreasonable. The thumpity air I get on my Q is the only real gripe I have with the bike.

Well, that and the metal shavings in the rear drive...

I have those, or at least a homebuilt version of the same. They made it a 1000% better! But there is still just enough turbulence that it makes longer trips more fatiguing than they should be... Just part of the ongoing engineering effort that is Quota ownership.

Not a detail picture by any means, but it's what I have handy:

I just bent some aluminum flat bar, sandwiched the plexi between some plumbing washers, and shimmed the works out away from the fairing and tank with some nylons spacers.

Oh wow now I get the idea thanks. So most of the buffeting issues come from the lower part of the fairing? How far out do these deflectors go? Having just received my Q this winter I have yet to really get out and ride yet (still have a foot of snow on the ground) but i'm a little surprised at all the problems with buffeting. I have an R100GSPD which is one of the bulkiest unstreamlined bikes out there but its as smooth as can be when blasting down the highway at speed.
