Yes. I could prettymuch put an RC8R together with ebay.de and ebay.co.uk
I´ll try go with the stock cooler. I really hope it goes. Less hassle and closer to riding. |

I would to, It's good know for those who follow. I can see my self doing this one day. I have been experimenting with aerodynamics on our cooling system with good results. I test my findings commuting in Sydney traffic as it is summer down here in the Antipodes. I use lack of fan switch on as a guide. My ideas were to remove the clutter from the back to allow air to freely exit the radiator unhindered. The fan was moved to the front. Next was to capture air from as wide as possible a direct it into the radiator with home made carbon fiber shrouds. One side was finished 3 months ago and I have been very happy with the results so far. I don't have a photo of the shroud yet. The results so far are a major improvement during low speed running, and that is with only one shroud. ![]()

Nice solution. Please post some more pictures.
I will, ofcourse, as soon as possible begin the progress. Only one problem. Soren, the "other" guy writing in this thread, is the guy i´m renting workshoparea at. We are renewing the floor with concrete/paint and organizing stuff a bit better. We have made the first half of the floor, just waiting to cure. The 26-27th we should be able to make the other half. In the new year we should be able to haul some ass with the project. Actually Soren is a bit busy. He has got an XC4 engine which threw up... Pics of the "other" project.

Paint will come as temps are rising. ![]() Today i got to play with this... ![]() Here... ![]() AND got started tearing down the beast. ![]() ![]() A little progress. Talked to a friend regarding the blasting and powdercoating the subframe, swingarm and frame. I will be beefing the swingarm with some added material(plan will come). Just to make sure that i wont suffer the early swinarm illness... Tomorrow even more teardown. Regards |

Very nice!
Cool project.I have to ask.... How tall is your ceiling? Are you short? I think I'd have to wear a hard hat in there. Keep up the great work.

Yep, that lid is about 6'3". And you'd have to lay down on the new floor to look out the windows!

Roof is a bit low, but then again. Less air to heat up.
Got the teardown complete today, with help from Søren. Day starts ![]() Watching the progress. ![]() Old heart out. ![]() Will the swingarm bolt fit? ![]() Yes... ![]() Which part to which?!!??! ![]() Just need the last bits to fit...no problemo ![]() All pretty much torn apart. Easy job, actually enjoyed it all the way. Next move for the interested, is getting the suspension done to 300mm front and rear. Then get the rear frame, swingarm, centerstand blasted and powdercoated. I´ll drop the idea of coating the frame as it has very small rustspots. I´ll take of them my self.

I skimmed through this again, might have missed it.
Did you post actual weights for your LC8 vs RC8R motor?

![]() That's not water, can't be... Danes don't drink water... I've never seen a Dane drink water in my entire life. ![]() Aha! Told you so, that wasn't water! Business as usual in the tiny kingdom of Denmark then. Something is taken apart and/or destroyed, all non watery liquids in the vicinity are consumed, the Dane is on the floor, face down, job done, another productive day. ![]() Best Regards from Stockholm, your project looks awesome!

Will have a look on the other side of new year. Regarding the water, i´ll go for another product tonight. ![]() Question: Is it possible to anodize, anodized stuff? I ´ve got a complete package from Emig Racing and would like to use this again. BUT i would like it to be black. OBS: Just a heads up on this exploding bikebits everywhere. I have allways been a big fan of a good overview of projects like this. But I have been bad to effectuate it. Then I saw this small box with small boxes inside. IRL: ![]() closed with text over each hole. ![]() This way it´s possible, for even a stupid infantry, to remember when time gets to assemble it again... ![]() Have a nice evening and take care out there. |

Yes, Just remove all the steal bits out off it. They will strip and reanodize. Black will be no problem.

). I did this with my Honda CRF. There were a couple things I wish I'd have included but didn't want to screw around with...lower fork lugs, swingarm pivot(too lazy to press out bearings), clutch cover, etc... The more stuff the better. One hint, the swingarm is likely clearcoated with some sort of protective coating, epoxy or perhaps clear powdercoat. It will have to be blasted to get the stuff off or it won't take the anodizing. Low pressure beads I found to work best. I tried plastic media didn't do the job... Too much pressure though could set bits of glass in the aluminum and that'd be bad so YMMV. 60-70 lbs psi worked for me, then I wet sanded it. HWSNBN screwed with this post 01-03-2011 at 10:13 AM |
