But if it works for you, enjoy! I'm sure your parts supplier loves you.
I think crashing is a part of riding... When you're pushing the limits of anything you're bound to find the edge once and a while. No need to flame anyone for their riding tastes, :) (Oh, and my parts supplier hates me because I pay cost +5 and always do my own work. I'm sure he does too.)

Cheers!

I ride like you. Always gotta get a (literal) feel for the edge. And the dirt!

Yup me too. Besides, isn't that what all those guards and crash bars are for anyway?

You know

You know you're a 950/990 owner when you have 2 sets of wheels. Just have to get those 19/17's

Yours must be one of the "Adventure Tourers"
I'm betting you've still got your original blinkers, too.

You know you're a 9X0 DIRTBIKE owner......
..... when you have a box of broken blinker parts bigger than a breadbox
I have a 300 and 450 (w/o blinkers) for dirt bikes. IMO, using the 990 as a dirt bike is both silly & expensive. Mine is a commuter & adventure tourer. Dirt roads, canyon carving, & easier jeep roads. It's just not a lot of fun in deep sand or big rocks.

IMO, using the 990 as a dirt bike is both
Exciting and Fun.
