Wee Jackup Kit
As im complete tech idiot...would like to ask one question that maybe sounds stupid :) Jack up links of 45mm will raise the seat 45mm or will raise the tail of the bike 45mm, or will raise what 45mm?
sorry and thanks |

I think what I was told by folks that have used them is that it raised the tail of the bike 45mm not the seat height.

Big Dave is right. It raises the rear of the bike only. I fitted one to quicken the steering when loaded up and carrying a pillion. Cheers. Joe

Raising Links (dog bones)
I believe Boon Booni raised his WeeStrom about 1" with new dog bones. I think 45mm equates approximately with 1-1/2". To answer your original question that equates to both ground clearance under the engine and seat height unless you also change that at the same time.

125mm hole-spacing (ctr to ctr) of raising links will equate to 36mm (a touch under 1.5") lift at the center of the seat.
I've just made, installed links and measured everything on a K9 rebuilt. http://www.stromtrooper.com/632037-post6.html |

I love inflatable fun!

Dogbones will adjust ride height, not sag or spring rate, which is generally the real problem.

I have long forks for the 'strom if you're interested. custom made and they are perfect, functionally.
the dog bones are not hard to fab. any good shop can make them to custom for you and they should be made of the same grade steel as the originals, no substitutes. I have several sets of aluminum ones that are great for testing purposes to adjust height, go ride, see how you like. they hold up well for a few thousand miles but I would not run them more than that. one of the issues you will run into is just wear/tear on the chain slider. its getting a lot of abuse in the 'tall' version that you would not otherwise endure. if interested lemme know. there have been quite a few tall/nekkid projects around here.
