Photobucket!

Yep, too many of you are looking at my pictures.

Here's the message I received: You have exceeded the 10 GB monthly bandwidth limit on your free Photobucket account. As such, your image and video links have been temporarily disabled. Your images and videos have not been deleted but will be reactivated on the 04th of the month, when your bandwidth usage resets to zero.

So I guess we just wait.

why not use an alternate email address (perhaps Gmail?) and username, open another free Photobucket account and post these fotos there? I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Yes!

This is my 2nd address with them. Will have to create a 3rd.
If I have the chance before I fly I will. Otherwise you have to wait until Jan.

More to come with Oregon & California.

By Any Means

Just started watching By Any Means with Charlie Boorman. Boy I want to get back on the road but just started a 6 month contract at Boeing to make funds for next year. Back to the grind.

Even more

Alright, it's been a long time since an update. More travels and adventures have occurred. Not all on bikes but since this is our only blog I'll post it all here.

Within a couple weeks of our return to Seattle we set off on 4 day backpacking trip to The Enchantments
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Enchantments)
This area has only been out from under a glacier for about 60 years.

The gang.

Jess

Coming down Asgard Pass. 2000 ft descent in 9/10th of a mile.

Looking back up the pass the last morning.

A last look back at the pass.

It gets hard and Oregon

We were back in Seattle and trying to figure out our plan for the winter. Our original idea had been to work at a ski resort. We were about out of money & didn't think we'd be able to save enough to travel in 2011. Jess decided she really needed to write & wanted to start on her book & would like to be near the coast. I thought I might go back to Boeing for another 6 months. All this stress combined with too much partying lead to a few fights & finally a big blow out. Jess left to see her parents in Oregon.
On the way there her bike died 3 more times caused by a new issue. The final time she had to get it towed to her parents where she would have to wait for a few weeks to get it fixed.
This time allowed us both to figure out what we wanted to do and work things out. After about a month of waiting for the bike to get fixed I went down to see her for a week on her parents farm.

We spent some time hiking, got some snow, and lost power for a night.

We went to go skiing but turns out they weren't open yet, but we still had a good time.

I took the chance to do a loop up to Hell's Canyon

Circled out through Idaho

Passed this old abandoned cement factory on the way back. Would love to do some Urban Exploration there.

Our last weekend there was Halloween so we headed into Pendleton, OR (famous for the Pendleton Roundup. Did the Underground tour which was pretty fun.
At our first stop of the night we met this guy, a fellow biker, who took us around to all the bars & introduced us to half the town and then a big house party.

We went as Alice In Wonderland

And the Mad Hatter

We spent one last night on the farm

Jessica's bike, which had been affected by high Ethanol fuel, needed a new clutch and a proper set-up, was finally ready. We headed out together W-SW towards John Day, OR. Jess was off to see an old school-mate & I was heading back to Seattle. Stopped at the little town of Sumpter.

Gorgeous trip.

In John Day we parted ways for 2 weeks. I headed west through the John Day Fossil Beds N.M. to the Painted Hills. I arrived just after sunset but while still light.

Two weeks later we met in Portland, OR for my birthday. We spent 2 nights at the Jupiter hotel partying, dining out, dancing and hitting the strip clubs. Sorry no photos.
For the last night Jessica surprised my by taking me to the McMenamins Grand Lodge hotel (http://www.mcmenamins.com/426-grand-lodge-home). This used to be the Masonic Grand Lodge of OR.
It had some great artwork in it:

It was another great birthday, or Jackmas as we call it.

SURPRISE and Christmas in California

A couple years ago I made a bet with my friend John over how much the very first T-Bird built would sell for at auction. It was over or under $1 million and I had under. The loser had to take the winner to El Gaucho, a Very nice steak house in Seattle. I won.

We decided to make it a Guys-Night-Out so invited some buddies.
Me & Jimbo

John & Jimbo

The guys, Russell the Aussie & Victor

We expected John's wife Deb to join us for desert so when someone kissed me on the cheek & I turned & saw her it didn't affect me. A second or two passed until my brain realized that it was Jessica who had kissed me. I have never been so surprised in my life. She was supposed to be at her grandmother's in California by then, or so I thought. She'd worked it out with John & Deb & had arrived at their house the day before. WOW!!!

We had a wonderful night out. When we picked up her bike 2 days later it had begun to snow. She was only going to be in town for a couple days but got caught in the Great Ice Storm of 2010.

So she stayed through the next weekend which was Thanksgiving. She finally made it out & spent three long cold days riding to her grandmother's/family's in northern CA.

I flew down for the week around Christmas. We stayed with some friends in Berkely. We did the town up and went Salsa dancing one night.

Then up to the grandmother's house.

We had a huge Christmas Eve dinner & two Christmas dinners with here various family members. I don't think I've ever eaten so much.

In the nearby town of Sebastopol an artist has taken a bunch of junk & welded it together to make various statues. It started with a couple in his yard but now everyone on his street that can has one.

I think this one's of my father (jk)

The artists house

I'm late. I'm late....

Yeah you can tell I really liked those.

While in Sebastopol I learned my cousins Chris & Jennifer lived there. I had the chance to catch up with Jenny, whom I hadn't seen since the 80s, and meet her boyfriend & daughter.

We headed back to the bay area and stopped in Nevato, CA to see the first house I can remember living in. This is also the house my family began our Big Trip, around the U.S. for 18 months, from.

There were some cool trees in a field above the house I remember so we checked those out.

We stopped in Tiburon, CA.

Then finally figured out how to get to the road leading up above the Golden Gate Bridge.

Well that's it for 2010. Next 2011. I'm back at Boeing for 6+ months. Jess is still in CA working away on her book and helping out with her grandma. What else will 2011 bring. Trips to Moab! More U.S. riding. Certainly more craziness and ADVentures! Stay tuned!

Thanks. It's certainly been an ADV so far. Already got some great stories from this year coming up.

At AZ Rider, yeah I think Jess's bag was bigger than her.
