So Mark, guy on the right at Larry's, is hacking up dinner a 4am. Been there...here's a cool rag and a glass of water buddy.

I'm hoping it's food poisoning. My reasoning to Oduibhir is that the other option is for Mark to be contagious and that would be bad. I pointed out the good news though...both Oduibhir and I wear flip face helmets.

The last time Mark did this we had just pumped diesel into our gasoline motorcycles and I ended up doing solo drain and clean on 2 K bikes the next day.

Ever wonder how some one gets a screen name like dieselboy?

Laugh No pics of 7 mile bridge?

I am happy to see you fellas have finally hit the road for this adventure. Good luck! BTW, you show back-woods Alabama mail boxes but not the seven mile bridge down in the Keys?

How can a mere bridge compete with Cletus Youmann?

I can recommend Google Earth if you need a fix.

Actually didn't stop for it because it was smoking hot and we had gotten away from some annoying cagers.

With hi heat and hi humidity it's a challenge to stay hydrated. We were downing 1/2gal of gatorade at every fuel stop on top of our camel backs that drained out everyday.
At that point we had just stopped and the priority was get gone.

Another "must" see is the "boll weevil monument" in Enterprise.

What's additionally interesting for us was that this is an active intersection. To get this shot I had to wave cars by me then stop in the center of the intersection briefly. The sun was brilliant and we weren't sure if Oduibhir had gotten the shot or not.

This mural is next to the monument.

Connie and Donna happened to be on break at our fuel stop. As usual the conversation was a good one. As it turns out, they have also riden down to Key West from Chatanooga. If that wasn't already a long ride, they did it following A1A down the coast.

Good on ya! Hope those inventories are going well.

We spent most of the day runing through the back roads of Alabama. Heading to Greenbo, Alabama.....not really Greenbo. I just like the way Tom Hanks says that in Forest Gump.

For all my Auburn friends I just want to say

Don't drink the coolaide

The forested hills have given way to the flat farmlands of western Mississippi. There is a really cool display off cropdusting keeping us entertained. I tried to catch one in the pic above but failed. On dusters, I foolishly paced one once. 110MPH was good. Being deloused was not. So this trip I'm still incecticide free.

New plan. We are hunkered down at a Walmart waiting out the hotest part of the day.
In Oduibhir's words, we felt like ping pong balls on I40. With as many trucks as are there it might as well be a train track. We are occupying the employee break area and repeatedly saying, "yes, Alaska".

What do we do if Barney comes? Easy, we offer him Pam's homemade chocolatechip cookies.

HEY! Here's a shout out to "Sport Bike Track Gear" who have joined Team Gremlin and our fight to eliminate the cursed beasties. Oduibhir's helmet broke a flange on the chinbar's hinge. Part's on the way. Thanks!

...now some some one call "Phoebe Cates". We need all the help we can get. The latest victim: M8 1.25x40mm.(Look behind the fork).

Fixed by your local John Deere in England, AR. Thankyou very much.

Blazing Arkansas 9 through the Ouachita National Forest was

ssss-uhhhh-wwwweeeeettt!!!!

But we got to make some time so up onto the big slab and hammer down! We are able to find "the groove". Unlike earlier there are few trucks. We are passing few and getting passed by few which means the speed is good for the volume on the road with us. Nicely, nobody is crowding us.

But all good things end and as the sun drops into our eyes we have to exit. It my be iconic for cowboys on horses, but riding into this sun is dangerous on a machine that "goes where you look". Once down, we'll saddle up again. Target: Texas.
