Ah yes, I remember it well. I almost finished the burger, couldn't finish the fries and orings! Pic doesn't do the grease justice though.

Acme finally bit the bullet.

Speaking of hash, I like it at Poppy's in Weaverville. You gotta love a place that has a sign that says, "Please don't lick your plate- we'll give you more" writtin on a paper plate.

More gossip; the guy who owns 12 Bones is opening a new BMW shop in Asheville- should open around May or June. (The munchers didn't hire me, though...)
(Come to think of it, maybe that means they know what thry're doing!)

Haus Heidelberg in Hendersonville NC or the best BBQ in the ENTIRE state of South Carolins, Bucky's BBQ.

I see that Haus Edelweiss has reopened in Greenville SC too. For those that remember this place from years ago, Marge is helping the new owner get her old recipes exactly right.

The Old Place at Bear Creek, NC needs to be added here. Buffet style country cooking at a slighty out of the way location. Good eats for sure. http://www.old-place.com/

You must be a transplant. I've never met anyone from the Carolinas that didn't like some form of BBQ unique to the Carolinas.

4 Winds - SE Guilf Co

Four Winds diner, Libertry Road in Julian area, 6 miles north of Liberty.
Actual chef enjoying semi-retirement by running a small diner down the street from his horse farm. Surprisingly good food in a (very) casual atmosphere away from "the city".

Good wine selections and beer list.
