I think a better bike to compare the new bike to would be Victory's old "Sport Cruiser". I think the Judge and Sport Cruiser share a similar goal.



Like the Sport Cruiser, I believe the new Judge will fail as well. It just seems like anytime a company tries to "standard-ify" a cruiser like Harley did with the Street Rod they just don't do very well. Harley has always offered standard versions of the Sportster but most people want the custom or old-timey look. I give credit to these companies for try to expand their lineups and market.

Standards just don't sell well in the US. The only one I can think of that you could say was a success was the Monster, but even then most of the desirable ones had low bars or clip-ons and were pretty racey. The new Honda CB1000R looks like a great performance standard and I predict they will sit in showrooms.

There are three primary motorcycle markets in the US: cruisers, crotch rockets, and MX bikes. Everything else is hit or miss.

The California is a big block in a Tonti frame.
The Nevada is the small-block cuiser.

Yeah. Move the pegs back another 8"-12" and raise the rider's seat about 6" and they'd have something.

I agree with the R1200R. A friend just picked up a HD Road King and we've ridden a bunch of leisurely cruises since he got it. I feel like I should get a cruiser too, hence the r12r. More power, 300lbs lighter, more fun!
