Snow has gone, the winter stuff is parked and I just went out and started up the steed for the first time since Nov.
Interested in making contact with anybody in this area who might be contemplating some off road riding over the next few months

Spring has certainly sprung, finally. My daughter commented that last year they went swimming in the lake on Easter.
The lake still has a thin layer of ice on it this year.

BTW, if anyone in interested, there is a new site catering to all forms of motorcycle that's based in Atlantic Canada.
It's in it's early stages but we had our inaugural ride yesterday with 6 bikes.

Threads been pretty quiet this season. Anyone up for a gathering of some sort this year. Had a great time up at Serpentine last year.

Just want to ride this year and not do a whole lot of posting. Even a small gathering in someones backyard for some local rides. I will probably have a few myself and will let you know when.

Hope the winter was good for all and hope to see some of you this season.

will be in touch when KLR break in on 685 is finished...hope to have the cylinder back on this weekend...

Your going to see a very nice improvment after the install, i did this plus a pipe and rejetting on a 2006 KLR i had a few years ago. Big difference in torque and really smooths out the engine. Rode mine pretty hard for the first 500Kms, and with a lot of engine braking to help seat the rings, then changed to synthetic .

The bike never used a drop of oil after that and would never vibrate the screws out of my glasses and lose my lens , which by the way is a scary thing if it happens on a foggy day in Alberta ...........

will advance ex cam 1 tooth and prolly take a big screw driver to muffler at this point before pipe and rejetting at this point. Would like to keep the gas mileage as good as possible at this point....old loose engine got 60mpg...

big money going into rebuild of my 77 R100s....totally rebuilt heads and bored cyls with new pistons....
even the ring grooves were worn out after 190,000 miles...

Yes , it does effect the gas milage, a buddy of mine and i rode the Dalton and Alaska higway , two KLR,s both the same year but mine with the mods. He consistantly ran 80 + Km,s more per tank. But i could outpull him easliy on the hills , it was really noticable when passing trucks with loaded bikes.


Good luck with the Beemer , 190,000 Miles is not so bad, but then again it is a BMW !
