Renos stole the spare time until mid-august. Now I belong to football. Game in Saint John last night, game today, two games in St. Stephen tomorrow. ...

But yeah, we should make something happen.

Yo Yo ! Moncton NB here. Let's get something going for next summer!

Lotsa bases for a rally... Governors Wilderness Resort, Serpentine Lodge, Moose Valley Lodge, Adair's Wilderness resort. Lotsa places. Could also form some kind of 3 to 5 day rolling rally going from one place to another. Just sayin'

I was just at Mount Carleton this weekend. I didn't go in, just drove by the gate. There are lots of logging roads in the area to enjoy. I was really impressed with the area but a lot of the trees have been cut down. Northern N.B. has a lot to offer. This is a remote area so you have to bring in everything that you would need. Wouldn't hurt to have someone with a support vehicle for extra gas etc. If the weather was bad it would kind of ruin the trip for camping and the roads wouldn'd be that good.

it adds to the adventure plus we could dart into Quebec for some added variety and local beer and cheese

Beer? Did anyone say beer?

Gas (regular octane) is never far away. From destination to destination the farthest distance would be around 100 Km (60Mi), so lots of room to fart around and visit stuff before even getting to reserve. Lots of places to camp, and you don't even have to carry food if you don't want to, there are camps in the middle of nowhere here that are usually open in the winter time for snowmobile season that are manned and will open on request for a gang passing through. Actually there's only one that I can think of that's closed during weekdays in the summer.

I usually ride in small groups of 1 to 5 riders. It's easy to cover 300 to 400 Km per day on gravel access roads.

A big group is a different story. Let's say we get a group of 15 to 20 riders, what would be the acceptable daily distance? Start time? End time?

Just some thoughts to get the creative side of me to start planning something.

Why does photobucket suck so bad... gotta get meself a smugmug.

THere is a gas station General store that sells Liquor ( not that the Liquor matters to us Maritimers ) and food 15 to 20 kms outside of Mt. Carleton.

A Rolling tour sounds great also. How about we try to come up with a destination by the end of November to help get things organized.

A few questions to all?

When are you available?
What type of riding do you like?
How many days are you looking at?
What type of Accomodations do you prefer?
Can you offer or bring anything to the Rally? Either material or knowledge?
Will your good looking Wife or Girlfriend be attending? Keep ugly ones at home.

When are you available?
Anytime outside the first two weeks of August

What type of riding do you like?
Typical big loaded bike type roads. Some ATV trail thrown in to keep you honest and interesting. Big mud holes to be avoided.

How many days are you looking at?
The longer I get to stay away from the office, the nicer of a guy I am.

What type of Accomodations do you prefer?
Doesn't matter.

Can you offer or bring anything to the Rally? Either material or knowledge?
Knowledge of the south east, and northern NB dirt road system.

Will your good looking Wife or Girlfriend be attending?
Now that you've asked the question, the answer is no. You just ruined the possibility of her putting a nice meal together for the gang that will be participating.

Keep ugly ones at home.
Aren't you tired of fighting for the cute ones? I used to always say to my buddies.. -The ugly one's mine!

What type of Accommodations do you prefer?
Tent or cabin.

Can you offer or bring anything to the Rally? Either material or knowledge?
Nope

Will your good looking Wife or Girlfriend be attending? Keep ugly ones at home.

Riding Questionaire

When are you available? Fall is best - like right now I go out everyday although I need regular coffee breaks in this 8 Celsius and 50 kmh winds type weather.

What type of riding do you like? I go wherever this G.P. will go. (grey pig)

How many days are you looking at? Depends on how far we want to take this. The more interesting the ride the more time and money I am willing to INVEST into it.

What type of Accomodations do you prefer? I prefer the Carleton ritz, or chateau de briand, but I can afford my tent.

Can you offer or bring anything to the Rally? Either material or knowledge? I am open to ideas. What I have we can use. Generators, large cargo trailer, lighting, 20 foot by 20 foot peak tent. If I have it I can use it.

Will your good looking Wife or Girlfriend be attending? Keep ugly ones at home. Heck NO! I bought the bike to clear my mind. Who the heck wants to listen to nattering on the back of a motorbike anyway.

Final serious notes: I am most interested in the biking and adventure riding. Not too much interested in this turning into a rally where the focus is on drinking. Getting together to promote the area, motorcycles, adventure, etc. is the only thing I am interested in (plus eating good food). If I want to drink I could attend the drowned rat rally in Digby which is down the road, and No I don't go. If the majority want to do a meet and drink that is fine. I will just continue along, with no hurt feelings either way. It would probably be best to establish the direction this is heading early on and thanks for asking the questions. I have seen some super great RR's from NB and would love to join the folks over there for some fine riding, and reciprocate at a future date.
