What helmet did you get after you realized the HJC CL-15 sucked balls?

Man, I hate this helmet, it fits better than my first one, but it whistles loudly when the visor is up, has awful ventilation, wind noise is ridiculous... I only don't notice how much it sucks during the day when I wear it with out the visor and with sun glasses on.

Anyone get this and then finally drop money on a legit helmet?

Try a Scorpion EXO-400 or EXO-700. Both can be had for between $100-$150, and the 400 often for as low as $50. Very quiet, good fit, easy changing shields, and decent graphics.
I found that the 400 tends to run small, at least for me, but there are fitting kits that go for around $30 that take care of that.

I have a CL15. Love it. Simple as that. It is a little loud with the visor up, but I kind of expected that. Thing fits very well. Snell. Less than 1/4 the price of a "ligit" helmet. I wear it with eye glasses, day and night. I don't get where I'd gain that much by dropping 4 times the price on an Shoei or Arai.

It does fit well, and that's about all I can say about it that's good. I'd rather get a new seat or new suspension for my klr for that matter than drop that kinda dough for the elite helmets, so I agree with ya there. I've got a feeling my next helmet is gonna be open face with goggles.

You can find a Shoei RF1000 for less than $250.00. No need to spend a fortune on a helmet. These are excellent helmets and reasonably priced.

Shoei TZ-R. The shape is very similar to HJC, but it is quieter and vents better. Check www.compacc.com for some sweet helmet deals right now (no, I am not affiliated, just a happy customer)

Suomy Spec 1R and a few months later got a Shark RSR2. Got the shark for travel since it has adjustable vents all around and a bit larger/durable design. Oh god was that CL-15 terrible. Glad I only paid 60 bucks or so for it on clearance. My straw that broke the camels back was the massive water leaking from the visor on trips.
