We roll through the fun roads of the Southern Arizona mountains, but as the roads drop elevation and straighten out across the desert the misery index is dialed up.
Border Patrol Check Point - I've always been waved right through with no problems.
I-10 to Tucson, UGHHH!
We hop off for an ice cream break. Nikki is hanging tough, and is ready to get rolling again quickly.
There's no way we're staying on I-10 all the way to Phoenix.
The highway through Florence is more scenic and never has much traffic, but traffic lights abound getting through the suburbs of Tucson.
We have dinner in Mesa with a black and white bear, while we allow feeling to return to our posteriors.
Finally, we near home as the setting sun tries to blind us. We live at the base of that mountain on the right.
That's a MONSTER day for Nikki's first Adventure. Prior to this trip she had only been on the back of a motorcycle for a few short rides in town. The last part of the ride was pretty hot and miserable, even for me. The following day she agrees to go again soon on a multiple day ride.
I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I hope you enjoyed our little ride.
