Dealer Recommendation in SoCal - Page 2

Both my friend Alex and I went to Lior's house. He is did an amazing job and went above and beyond both of our expectations (he has an R1100S/I have an F800S). He even picked up my motorcycle on his own time, dollar and grid lock traffic.

I'd only recommend Lior from this point forward. I've had negative experiences with Long Beach BMW, Irv Seavers is good but some people here tend to butt heads with Joe the service manager.

To each their own, but I'd much rather support a local guy who will take the time to do the job right the first time and not charge you an arm and a leg to change a bolt. Plus Lior has a super awesome dog to play with while he finishes polishing off your bike!

No way affiliated, just believe Lior gets the best job done for the best price.

wow, I'm totally shocked that someone had trouble with Joe...

LB has actually never given me any reason to look elsewhere. loaner bike, easy appointments, good work.

beyond that, my favorite mechanic in so cal is rick monahan at black kat motorwerks (but he only works on /2's).

Since I last posted in this thread (back in June) Lior is no longer with BMW of Riverside, but is as you said doing "independent" motorcycle service again. I still stand by my recommendation of his work! And he will be servicing my 1200 in the next week or so.

Ventura County BMW in Newbury Park has been good for parts and accessories tho expensive. They have a good reputation for service and support. George is the man to see there if you want to purchase a bike.

"Run don't Walk" away from West Valley Cycles in the San Fernando Valley. The crazy woman who runs the place will tell you "she doesn't want you for a customer" if you try to negotiate a deal or question her products (I'm talking from experience).

Lior just worked on my R1150GS last night. Started "afterhours" because I could not get to his place until 5:30 due to a lot of traffic. His work was meticulous and methodical. He isn't like other mechanics I've met that have to consult books, etc. He started working and it was clear he knew exactly what he was doing. He was also very anal about getting everything just right. He spent a lot of time on the valves getting them *just right* as if it were his own bike. He didn't speed through everything because it was his evening either.

I feel very confident after meeting him and watching him do the service. I'd recommend him to anyone wanting their bike serviced by a professional.
