To ad lib Monty Hall:

Let's make a track.

We need six miles of track log for a big bike bypass near Ellijay GA. From the intersection of route 2/Dalton St and Boardtown road in town, follow route 2 Northwest to the intersection of Gates Chapel road. Then, follow Gates Chapel road to the intersection of Zion Hill road. I'll trade you what is behind door number 1, if it is a recorded log.

We also need some intel on a bridge across Juniper Creek just North of Morgan Place FL. Current intel will get you what is behind door number 2.

Those are both outside the areas I'm familiar with but I'll try to contact that Florida county's DOT first of the week and see what the deal is on the bridge, and get back to you. I can see why it's important.

I got a volunteer, via PM, on the track log. If you can run down the condition of that bridge, that would be great.

Looks like I best get something of substance behind those doors.

Florida bridge

That bridge is on Forest Service Road 125 (I believe) just in Liberty County.

The Forest Service office in Bristol, Florida's phone number is 850-643-2282.

I've called there 3 times - twice in May and once in June - got the voicemail for the road engineers, left a message, and they've never called back.

When I was there in the first few days of April, the bridge had a span that had been removed, and there was heavy equipment there working on the bridge. Unfortunately there was no one around as it was a weekend. It looked like they intended to fix the bridge, but I really don't know.

Are they fixing it? replacing it? or just removing it?

In that case how bout a night with Vanna..oh, wrong channel. Ok, I'd settle for a 690 enduro.

No worries, glad to assist, maybe we'll get lucky.

Yep, I saw where it is and why you need it, looks good btw. This is a fairly common scenario in Fla. and Ga., it can take anywhere from six months to a year and a half for repairs or to replace, but usually they eventually get to it. Probably can get some info.

The bridge on FS 125 over Juniper Creek is open. Took awhile (7 different people) but got confirmation from the last two that the bridge "is good to go". A real person answered the phone every time.

Good Deal!

Thanks Bill!

I'll update both TET-Sv2 and my working files.

I posted a request for help in the Florida regional files, so I'll also be getting conformation on the ground... just makes me more comfortable!

The times I had called I got a person - the receptionist - but when I got transferred to the road engineers I always got routed to voicemail... and never got a call back. Grrr....

I started with the Chamber of Commerce, it was the only number I could find, they gave me the Clerk of Courts, I spoke to an assisstant, then called back later for the lady in charge, she gave me the County Commissioner's assisstant, and she gave me his cell number so I left him a message (he was in a meeting), then she put me in touch with the Fire Chief and I explained there would be some dual sport riders coming thru their county over the next 20 or 30 years using that bridge, so he called the FS road dept. then called me back and said the bridge was open, then I called the FS road dept. to verify.

Then the Governor called and wanted to know wtf we're up to.

And behind door number 2, a few pictures of the Northern end of TetS.

Thanks Bill.
