What do I do with the gpx file now ?
All I see is html going on forever. How do I get this into my Garmin and look like the tracks ect in the first thread? The GPX file thread was a confusing dead end to me. Help if you can,,,,,,beat me up if you must. |

Mapsource will open it, you just have to tell it what to look for. Go to file>open. When the box opens, you have to go to a drop down menu near the bottom and choose "all files". Then navigate to wherever the file has been saved. Sorry so short, but I gotta go to work. If you're still having trouble this evening, I'll give you more ways than one.

HTML going on forever
I run into this sometimes when receiving GPX tracks, depending on what browser/email client I'm using.
When I access my email at the mail host using their web interface - in the header at the top of the email just below the addresses it says something like TET-Sgpx.gpx and beneath that it says [the size of the file], beneath that is says 'APPLICATION/OCTET-STREAM' Right click on this and select 'save as', a dialog box will open as to where you want to save it and what you would like to call it. Move the the correct directory, leave the name alone, and save it. If you're using Thunderbird, look at the bottom of the email window after the email is completely loaded and you'll see where it says something like TET-Sgpx.gpx Right click on this and select 'save as', a dialog box will open as to where you want to save it and what you would like to call it. Move the the correct directory, leave the name alone, and save it. Open Mapsource, File, Open, move to the directory where you saved it, Open. You should now see it in Mapsource. I received the document file thanks. Looking forward to the GPX. If this weather continues to hold we may be able to do some this year.
