Byob, The Vermont version

The DL 650 and X Challenge are ready for the 370 mile trip to Galeton Pa for the BYOB ADV event. Add 50 for MZ to get to my house.

MZcountryboy & I hit the road a 8am on Friday.

The weather was crisp and clear.

This was an interesting Rail collection. The GG1. A very successful electric locomotive built by GE for the Pennsylvania railroad. The body was designed by Raymond Loewy.

I found a list. here I don't see either of these on it.

This crane was also at the site.

These EMD F7 a units were across the street.

We then came across the Tioga Railway.
Alco S-1 and an EMD Gp 7

Yes, 2 cases of beer will fit in a pair of Touratec's.

We made it!

Adv handles and faces are connected. All of which was forgotten.

Mountain Lorral, Pa's state flower.

Galeton is pretty picturesque.

Saturday we went to Centralia Pa. The small coal town removed from the map by a coal vein fire.
Abandon hi-ways and all.

MZ checking out the cracks.

There were a lot of Russians in Centralia.

Our friends Ryan & Sam dropped in Saturday night.

Prolly havn't seen one of these before. MZ Saxon Tour. Look it up.

Sunday morning we head off.
A little dreary, not too bad, a little wet in spots.

1947 Packard Deluxe

Lunch did not Suck.

I love out of the way cemeteries.

My plan for Sunday was to head north to Watertown NY as I still have 3 days off! Scott & I parted ways at NY Rt 20, and he headed East.
Awesome rid'in with you for a couple of days MZ

Part 2 to follow.

Byob Vacation part 2

For those of you keeping score, it is Sunday afternoon and I am riding solo to the Watertown Ny area from Galeton Pa.

Brewerton Lighthouse

Oneida River

Yet another rail museum

I managed to avoid I 81 most of the way.
I like the Rural roads, Hey look! A couple of Scout's!

and a '78 Fiat for $2k

Made it to Kring Point State park.

I set camp and got some things up to dry. Good breeze and the sun was helping.

Off for some Beer and fire wood. Nice road to the park.

Beer, check, wood, check

Kring point from the main land.

Not a bad end to the day,

I really liked this site. #29, highly recommended

And so ends stage 2 of this trip.
Where to in the morning? Stay tuned

Off to Lake Placid today.
Weather is a little gloomy.

Another Cemetery break.

Adirondack Roads

This looks a little sketchy.

Must be in the right town.

Water Slide?

Stayed here for $60.

I went to both Breweries in town after checking into the Woodlake. This was the better one for Beer.

Street candy?

The old church still left. Russian Orthodox? This is the cornerstone.

It was fine. It's about a mile from the action. I checked a motel closer to downtown and it was $20 more. After a few days in the saddle, I could use the walk. Woodlake was $60. No tax, no credit needed and I was the only one in the whole place. Ice was in the Greek Restaurant across the street. It was closed, they let me in. Little funky.

Kring point has your sunset shots covered. My site was due East but it was cloudy. I'm sure the sunrise is equally impressive.

Guilty.

I was ripping up the northway after riding rte 20 across from Ithaca, where I split off from Vt-Stromer after the five guys lunch.

I was gunning it for home, made it back around 8 pm.

Were you riding or caging it?
