Ya . The forum has been very quiet fo the last while. I hope it's because everyone has been out riding & getting ready for the season.

Just an idea.

How about getting together for and informal meet & greet, maybe lunch at some place in the Chatham area (seems central for the area) on the weekend of May 14/15.
A time to put faces to names & maybe discuss rides & bikes. I don't know of any place specific in the area but would welcome suggestions.

Forgot about Port Dover. That's the Friday. Don't know if there would be any interest for Sunday the 15th or not. Let's just run it up the flagpole and see what happens.

The guy on Banwell is a class A great guy. He just got the bike, a 2011 KTM R8-R. He had to wait an eternity for the bike because he wanted the R version (15 extra HP) and only 3 were coming to Canada. Anyway, the other driver worked midnight shift on the assembly line, then went golfing all day and had some cocktails (not impaired though), then falls asleep driving home. He crossed the median and hit the bike head on. My coworker was airborne for about 100 feet and landed in a farm field. The KTM disintegrated. He was airlifted to Beaumont. Two shattered arms, shattered pelvis, fractured leg. He had surgery this morning for a compound fracture in his arm. Numerous surgeries still to come.
It's doubly tragic because he's probably the nicest guy in our entire organization.

Hope your friend makes a speedy recovery. Sounds like a similar accident to what Patrick Tehran had in hitting a truck head on although it sounds as if this other dirver was totally at fault. Never the lest your friend will have a long road to recovery but hope the path is smooth and trouble free. Prayers and best wished to him

Wow, I heard the run come in. Sounded like a cyclist and then it was a motorcyclist. Man, I feel for the guy, not only does he have serious injuries, but to get your dream bike after waiting thatlong for it, and not to really get much use out of it, and have it destroyed. All things considered, he is lucky to be alive. I didnt see the scene, but the way it was described to me, I was concerned it would be a fatality. Hope he comes out of this without any serious long term injuries. Send em my best wishes if you visit him. Is he back in windsor or staying at Beaumont for a while???? Really, just sucks that the innocent people pay the price for other people's mistakes. I hope the driver got charged.

I am up in Goderich and ride a KTM.... I haven't been down in your area yet on it this year.

Always ready, willing and able to go out for a spin.... There are some okay trails to rip around on here (Huron County). Send me a message if you all are going out.

Guys,

If you've been following the EOAR 2011 thread, its already full! I had two campsites booked but there was lack of interest with our group so I got rid of one of the sites. WTF? My large tent is heavier than I would like to strap on for a 5-6 hr ride. We need to have a meet to confirm who wants to go. I'm not even sure if they will allow more people. I know the campsites are GONE! I will be leaving on Friday, May 27 early in the morning so that I can get there mid afternoon to set up camp. This is not an event to be missed. Let's get our act together! Meet Saturday night 6:00 pm at Tecumseh Roadhouse to discuss or forever hold your peace?

See you there. Todd and I are riding up Fri. Doing back roads. He's tenting I'm staying in a cabin. Unless there are more camping cancellations I think all the campsites are gone but don't know about rooms in the cabins. Call Wilma at Elmhirst.

PS Junac How big is you tent? I might be able to carry it for you if you got it to Sarnia before Fri. My girl has a big rear end.

Hey great! I was hoping to do back roads as well. What route are you taking? I'll carry the tent if I have to.

Suggest you check with Todd (Toddiscdn). I think we were planning to leave from his place at BluePoint (20 Kms) north of Sarnia about 7:30 or so Fri. I haven't confirmed a time with him yet, and go up the lake road and across 83 to 23 and catch 4 over to Orangeville . Not surt exactly from there.
