Stooopid Vacation RR
I agree ... where do I sign up for my Stooopid Vacation.
![]() Keep it rolling and maybe it will get better. you might even have to extend this Ride another week. Of course that would be Stooopid too. YK

There's plenty more stoopid yet to come.
![]() Just below the summit of Spruce Knob is a little fishing pond. ![]() ![]() and miles and miles of big bike friendly forest roads that follow little streams like this one. ![]() ![]() Even when you eventually pop back out into a main highway it does not suck. ![]() ![]() ![]() However....road construction delays do. ![]() ![]() The farmland that borders the Laurel Fork wilderness is very nice too. ![]() ![]() I liked it. ![]() ![]() ![]() I took more pics of the farmland than the forest...I guess because trees are trees ![]() ![]() I even met some free rangers ![]() Yep...as sunset approached to end a near perfect day, so did the clouds. ![]() It was time to head back into the woods and pick my campsite for the night ![]() ![]() .....I saved it for another day ![]() ![]() Thankfully the rain held off til after midnight. ![]() And thankfully it wasn't too heavy of a rain as I was camped right on the river! ![]() I almost had the place to myself, a family in a travel trailer with some small children were my only neighbors. ![]() I said hello to my neighbors then went back to my site and watched a movie on my little net-book....it's nice to have that 7 hour battery sometimes.

![]() I think it's pretty there too. ![]() Except when it's rainy which it it off 'n on all night Tuesday. Wednesday morning I awoke to the lack of raindrops hitting my tent. Yep, it was over with...at least for the moment. I packed up straight away and just as I was rolling up the tent it began to sprinkle again. Oh well, at least it wasn't heavy. I decided to head for Elkins for breakfast, it's about 35 miles by the most direct route but I explored my way there and logged about 50. No pics...yeah I know, I suck! but that's what happens when it's wet out I did ride some cool stuff though one mtn I passed over was a bumpy rocky one, kinda like being on cobble stones only different. It was real wet and sloppy in a few places too and my bike was quite the mess! ![]() McDs dollar menu and some free wifi ..... showed that I was going to be in between showers real soon I took lots of pics there.

Harper's store ![]() That nasty grey/white sky is bad for pics...but it is what it is... ![]() gratuitous macro shot of some rusted metal ![]() ![]() ![]() I had the place to myself it seemed ![]() ![]() Across the street at teh visitors center ![]() ![]() Never say that I don't take time to stop and smell the flowers ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I didn't see any climbers braving the rain ![]()

Excellent ride report and photos too! Your only mistake was making that pit stop at McD's.
Well, they did have free Wifi tho.:)
