Pissed 990 adventure key programming

So I buy a new 990 adventure yesterday...salesman tells me that the Orange key is probably for use only on the seat lock, and glove box.
Dumbass that I am I try to use it t start the bike this morning, turns out the orange key is for resetting the programmed keys available for use on the bike....IE inserting the orange key deactivates the previously programmed keys.
I have run through the procedure in the manual for programming the black keys about 5 times ( pretty simple, insert orange key, turn on, remove, insert back key turn on, remove, insert orange 1 more time, turn off, and remove and voila should be ok) but the bike will not turn over...all previous flashing codes are now ok, but when I hit the starter, I can hear the eletronics "click" for a second, then the tach flips and resets again without the bike starting.

Any brainstorms, or similar experiences out there....my dealer doesnt have a solution so it appears I am on my own.
Any help would be apreciated as it is 22 degrees and sunny out and I want to go for a ride!

I have to agree with the others, sounds like a low battery. A lot of dealers don't put enough initial charge on a freshly serviced battery. Having the key on while you were programming the keys drug it down too low. Nice thing is on the lower left side of the bike is a post to attach a battery charger. Just remove the plastic cover on the side of the skid platle.

Good luck
Mike

Thanks Ken...it was the battery. Now I really feel like a dumbass!!!
Never would have thought 2o min of fiddling with the keys would kill it.
Thanks for the replies

congratulations on the bike!!!!
That sucked you had a dealer that knew so little about the bike.
I think I would go back to the salesman and explain very clearly what happened and see if he will maybe throw you something from the custom parts shelf. At least let him know so the next buyer doesnt fall into the same trouble.
