Ttr 250- Acerbis tank!?!?

Could someone tell me if a acerbis tank from a ttr 600 would fit on a ttr 250??I would appreciate any help! I know that the acerbis xr250/400/600 tanks can fit with a few brackets and the ttr bolts..

Thanks in advance!

Pretty sure it can Dawwg-Man
I am assuming you mean the 20 litre version? AFAIK all you might need to do are the front mounts and an extra frame rubber at the back to make it meet the tank and you should be good to go.
From your 640 posts, I can see that you are pretty handy with the tools, so a problem it should be not.
cheers

Thanks Mass and Nitram..

Its a old ttr600 acerbis tank, 20L like you say.. If I can get it cheap I'll give it a go

Trying to make my dads ttr more long range adv capable.. Will just need a rack and some pannier frames then it should be good to go.

Cheers

Don't discount the Giant Loop bags - fantastic (no mounting hardware required)

This is their largest, but they also make smaller ones.

The short answer is no.
I have a 98 TTR 600 with 20lt acerbis tank and I have a 99 TTR 250.
The 250 has a different mounting system at the front of tank and would appear to be a major stuff around to make work (imo).
I had wondered about it to but the XR tank is a better easier (and cheaper) option.

Hope that helps, cheers.

Ahhh really? No way of mounting it?? So I musnt buy a cheap old 600 20l then .. Don't have any money to splash so otherwise maybe in the future I'll be able to look into getting a xr400 one.. Seems you can get them for around 200$ or there abouts second hand..

Those giant loop bags do look like the shiz niz!! I will look into them before deciding on a luggage system for the little ttr.. Definatey a good idea cheers

Yeah i`d be looking for a cheap second hand 17lt XR 400 tank or 22lt XR 600/650 tank. Maybe an old TT 600 tank may work.
Trouble is that the TTR 600 slides on to mounts on the frame, the TTR 250 bolts to the front of frame. Now you may just be able to fashion up some mounts (woul save me buying another tank) but when I looked at mine and tried to fit it (bugger), well yeah the XR tank is what I will be doing.
17lt will get you well over 300km.
