SE will not start

OK, went to start the SE as normal hit the magic button and CRACK sound like someone hitting the case with a hammer. Starter is getting juice but will not turn over the engine. Put bike in gear and rocked back and forth and seems right.

Any ideas? Never heard a sound like that from a starter!

Rad Gaurd (http://www.radguard.com.au/categorie...nduro-950.html) in Australia makes a reasonably priced one that looks pretty good, but I've no personal experience.

SHOULD SCROLLED DOWN BEFORE RESPONDING.

JOHNNO, WHICH TANK ARE YOU RUNNING?

small oil Leak… time to put a 990 in it!!!!

what do you think??? SE motor wasted? better off pulling the motor and putting a 990 in it? That's what I'm telling the wife at least. seriously, I can turn wrenches okay, but I've never had the jugs off. Bike has 30K miles. I've tried some high temp sealant and its still seeping… Stealer wants 6-7hrs of labor ($90 USD per hr) plus parts. WHAT?

I don't need details here on how to do it… but is this something I should let the dealer do or can the average KTM wrench turner that does most their own work do it?

Thanks!

Its probably the oil pressure sender in between the cylinders and just getting blown all over.

What he said.......I have had this on my 950 as well. Oil pressure sender is relatively inexpensive, but a pain to get to if you still have the air box. If you replace it, make sure the fuel line is not bumping against the sender. The middle of it is plastic, and easy to break.
