I hear he's going to be taking a six week "R&D" trip in May...

What are we all going to do without him?

I know this thread is for quick questions and not dumb questions, but are adventure and super enduro seats interchangeable?

There are no dumb questions.

However, the answer is...

Negative, Ghost Rider.

Well, actually, there are (dumb questions), but...

1. Luckily, I've already asked most of 'em, and

2. "950 Super Enduro 'Dumb Question(s)' Thread" just didn't have the same "ring" to it...

Congratulations on the SE!

As far as the questions, keep 'em coming. If they get too "dumb", this thread is embedded with top-secret "triplenickel" and "dogsslober" software that will correct you, immediately...and publicly flog you, so that you will never do it, again.

Back now....Just read all this. Too funny.

West Virginia was a blast. First time riding the Hatfield McCoy Trails and a bit of single track. ...on a 950 ADV. We got hooked up w/ Bill from Blue Goose Saloon. Bill will make sure you're not bored. Bill and Teresa are great folks in Matewan, WV. http://bluegoosesaloon.com/

Go visit them for a great ride.
We've got more info here- http://cjdesignsllc.wordpress.com

And NO, we were not locked up in a basement.

Thanks alot, Craig!!!

Now, I owe BENRON a six-pack of Milwaukee's Best (or Pabst Blue Ribbon...whichever he chooses). I think Costco has 'em...three cases for $5.

Whatever you do, just don't tell Yardstick that I bought a Safari...

Quick question: has anyone wired a BMW outlet to their SE for a heated vest? Where did you put the outlet and how did you affix it to the bike? And exactly how did you wire it in? To the battery directly or some free connection piece? (Complete wiring noob here.). Thanks for replies.

Question may not be a quick question

GPI installation ?

bought a GPT GI3001
http://www.gptengineering.it/gpt_eng...00_SERIES.html

when powered i get a flash of 4 then goes to -
nothing happens after this ?

i've not tried the Or/Blk on the speed sender
i tried the Br/Blk on the speed sender then went right to were it is just yellow wires in & out of the (wifi type) sender to the dash.

i'll try Or/Blk speed sender tomorrow - thinking it is this one & it's on the dash side of the loom

GPI instalation

Brown to Earth
Green to + key switch (power when key on)
White to brown/white (front stick coil) tacho signals are traditionally picked up off the -VE of the coil.
Yellow to brown/black OR orange/black (speedo sensor)
Grey to earth only when programing

Fitting new(ish) CS sprocket to with older chain...

When I bought my SE about a year ago it had 1,800 miles on it and the previous owner had switched out the stock 17T CS sprocket for a 16T sprocket shortly after buying the bike new. Along with the other pull-offs the original countershaft sprocket is in a box of parts he gave me when I bought the bike.

Today the bike has just under 16K miles on her and while the rear sprocket and chain still look and seem okay, the front sprocket is beginning to hook. Not enough to pop yet, but soon.

Over the summer this bike will primarily be used on paved and gravel roads with a few easy trails mixed in. I've always wondered how much the stock gearing would be different so I'm thinking of re-fitting the stock CS sprocket and just using it until it's time for new chain and sprockets. That way I'll know if I like the slightly taller gearing and maybe see a bit more mpg on trips.

Is there a downside to doing this? Will my chain disintegrate quickly or does it really matter? It seems if I continue to run the hooked one on there now it would hasten the chain's demise more than the nearly-new stock one.

Also, for those of you who've run both the 17T and 16T, is there a noticeable difference in revs at 70-80 mph and will I see a significant increase in MPG with the larger sprocket? The bike is averaging around 38 mpg now.

Thanks!

You'll love the Taller Gearing for 'True 50/50 Dual Sporting'

The LC8 has plenty of power to pull the 17/45 gearing

IF / WHEN the engine is lugging, Simply downshift

You'll help your MPG's too
