When I was in the hospital for three months I spent most of my time watching motorcycle movies on YouTube and buying stuff for my bike. I also completely planned multiple trips that I am going to do when I get better, it's a must!

When you're able to get back in the saddle - I'd be honored to ride your wing.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and those who provide your care.

I kind of know how this feels! I can't even begin to imagine how it must be for you, being out of commission for so long, but I certainly know it on a smaller scale - for me it's been seven weeks today and it will be another four until I'm back on the bike. Given what I know from that, I don't want to experience it for longer. I did pretty much the same: buying stuff for the bike. I even sat on it the garage and could just hold myself back making "Wrooooommm" noises ...

All the best wishes and may you have lots of fun with the farkles you bought, installing them, and then using them while riding your bike! Get well! I would enjoy riding with you if you are ever in Northern California!

My S10 in the mountains behind Brisbane, Australia

S10 near Kilcoy

Went for a 250K ride on Maximus Obesus (Fat Max) yesterday. Stopped in at a cafe for coffee where another S10 owner told me that the spokes in the rear wheel are a real problem. Any feedback folks?

How much time have you got? Many threads and comments in ADV and the Tenere site.
Not so much breaking, never heard of one, more the nipple works loose falls out
and you have a flailing spoke whacking the swing arm. Yamaha only sells spoke sets.
I had to buy a set and have shared spares in the past. After bending the front wheel
twice and the rear the same I sent the rear to Woody's Wheels for a new set up.

Moab was my first test and so far it has past. Fingers crossed.

I have had one (an S10 that is) for a year now. The original owner didn't know what a loose spoke was and nothing has changed. They are all fine, so far.

Yes I do off road and bumps and stuff. By the way a few S10's have done a fair few Km with missing spokes.

Nick sanders bike did about 25,000Kn with a missing spoke. Not the spokes fault though. It got ripped out by a strap.

Cheers
Graham

You are not determined to ride again.

You *are* riding again.

All the best, and post a picture of your first ride, I like pictures with shit eating grins!

It really is. Everytime I go to Moab I wonder why I ever go anywhere else.

How long did it take you to ride around White Rim on the Tenere?

How's Moab when you're on a pure street bike? Can you get to some nice places? We plan to go there next year, but my wife is more or less street only on bikes > 250cc ...
