OK... Now you've gone and done it! Pretty much trumped anything in the thread recently.

Kawasaki H2 750 Triple, and a first year one, no less... What appear to be Morris mag wheels, drilled discs with the calipers located behind the fork legs, stainless steel brake lines... and what are those - Denco chambers? Or maybe Spec II?

(edit correction: now that I look closer it appears more like you have a set of Z1R forks on there, along with Z1R wheels, discs, and calipers)

And obviously no stay-at-home garage-queen, but something you ride and no doubt enjoy immensely!

Thanks! I have owned H2's since the late 70's. Most of the one in the photo was bought for $600 in 1985. When it was time to freshen up the old girl I decided that besides the engine, I wanted better brakes and a stock paint job. It was Eddie Lawson Replica lime green previously. After doing some research I found that there were cheap period Kawasaki parts out there that would fit with minor mods so that is what I went with. I wanted the bike to still look like a 70's bike. Although I don't ride it much compared to my modern bikes, it is far from perfect in the flesh and was put together to be ridden for fun and not just looked at.

The whole front end except the front fender is off a 70's KZ650. The front fender is off I believe a Kawasaki Spectre. Front master cylinder is from a Kawasaki Police bike. These were all cheap Ebay parts. The Fly Screen is from an old Buell Lightening and it has period K&N Superbike bars.

The whole rear end is from different year 70's KZ650. The rear shocks are cheapie aftermarket Koni shocks that I believe fit some old Laverda. They are a couple inches longer than the stock length and help get rid of the wobbles. These are cheap ebay parts as well. It also sports period Dunstall rearsets.

The engine is a little more involved. It had roughly 20K miles on it and slipping clutch when it was rebuilt. Right now it has period Denco Stage II drag porting, a Barnett clutch, and runs 34mm flat slide Mikuni's. The chambers are Jemco stingers with the ends cut off and Factory Pipe Product Silencers clamped on. I let the guy that did the engine for me talk me into the porting it has and it is way over ported for street use. It was actually no fun to ride as it had zero bottom end. That was fixed with some simple custom reed valves a buddy of mine makes. They fit right in the intake ports and can hardly be seen. They are not exactly high performance reeds but work great for a fun weekend street bike. It is now a very rideable street bike.

The electronic ignition boxes are getting old and fragile. Since this bike is far from stock I replaced the CDI and regulator rectifier with modern parts designed and built by a couple H2 aficionados. This set up allows me to run with no battery.

That's the problem I have on this bike, whether it's floating on sand or sideways on a fireroad the Tenere just works so much better on the gas, but highsiding a 600# bike at those speeds is going to be nasty. Hence I often ride like a wuss when I should be on it leading to stupid tip overs. I hear ya.

It's a survival farkle. If stranded the two pegs combine to make a large animal trap.
