Riding in Nicaragua
I still have not mastered the art of taking lots of pics like some folks here do. I guess I'm still concentrating on the riding part
![]() we started out at the entrance to Volcan Masaya, and did a series of short trail rides to get to a dried out riverbed with lots of nasty loose sand. My bike is in front, then Frank, then Scott. ![]() at a little restaurant bar with the MOST AMAZING views ![]() ![]() ![]() they call it "Magnific Rock" ![]() ![]() Anyway, here is a video shot in SD with my Contour HD. We did a 100+ mile off-road day from Managua to San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua. Mostly double track stuff with a few miles of some hairy shit through the mountains. I'm still a rookie and spent a fair amount of time on my side, back, face, etc. All good though! http://s830.photobucket.com/albums/z...t=FILE0012.mp4

From a different trip
my riding buddy Scott
![]() a view from the trail ![]() yours truly--bordering on heat exhaustion. it was well over 95 F in the shade! ![]() one of the stops was El Chocoyero El Brujo--a nature preserve of sorts with a purportedly nice waterfall several hundred meters into the rainforest. we opted out of the hike as we clearly were not dressed for jungle hiking ![]() local pitahaya and aguacate (dragonfruit and avocado) ![]() local refreshment (damn! there was no beer!)

Did you rent bikes down there?
I have been to Nicaragua a fair amount since '96 - my wife's originally from there. Plenty of dual sport country. My wife and kids went to the Chocoyuero a few years ago - not too far north of Managua but definitly the sticks! |

Actually, Scott owns his Yami and I keep my DR650 there, as there is no riding here in Miami.
My friend Frank (wearing jeans in one of the pics) does rent DR's and KLR's and gives guided tours. He is an inmate as well, but I can't remember his nick
