I am going on the Cycle Specialties ride to the Trumbell Peak lookout station this Sunday. They are meeting at the shop and also at the big tree in Coulterville. I'll most likely be trucking the DR350 up to Coulterville and meeting them there. Or I might take the VStrom and meet them in Modesto. Haven't made up my mind 100% but am leaning toward the truck/DR.

Anyone else planning on going? Depending on the time we get back to Old Coulterville Rd, I might split off and head to Little Nellie Falls as a side-trip.

Me too!

I should be going on this ride as well. Going to talk with Gail tomorrow and see what type of terrain it is. Not sure if its appropriate for the KLR or do I need to bring the WR. More than likely I will be riding my KLR up to Coulterville from Oakdale to hook up with the ride.

You can EASILY do Sunday's ride on a KLR. Like I said, I'm deciding between the VStrom and the DR350 so a KLR would be cake. In fact, I don't think he leads any rides that would be too much for a KLR.

If I understand it correctly it is going to be mostly dirt up from Coulterville up to Mt Peterson or something like that. Generally in the Briceburg/El Portal area. check out Cycle Specialties (Modesto) for better details...

Sorry I was wrong it is Trumbull Peak and here is the info from the website

Adventure Ride - Trumbull Peak, Sunday Sept 19th
We just scouted the route to Trumbull Peak this past Sunday and it looks great! Click the picture to the right to get an idea of the view we will enjoy while eating lunch on the trail! Be sure to bring your camera!

99% of this ride is very friendly beginner level riding. The final 1/2 mile climb to the top of Trumbull Peak has a grade about as steep as a mountain driveway. It is very ridable for a beginner with a tiny amount of "go for it" ! The off-road portion of this ride is aprox 45 miles.

We will be meeting at Cycle Specialties at 8:30AM with the ride starting at 9:00AM. We will also be stopping in Coulterville at 10:30AM for anyone that would like to meet up. Be sure to pack water, camera and lunch!

Maybe see you there..
