Waiting for ride details....

Calikatoom led a great ride last time. I wish I could offer up a route for the next ride but I only have an idea of a location. I believe that one can ride from Long Barn to Cherry Lake and beyond on some FS roads. I suppose if we wanted a good long ride we tag that ride onto the last ride and make our way back towards Coulterville. That may be a bit ambitious but just an idea. Not much time left to ride some of these roads with winter on its way.

Route plans!

The Long Barn, Cherry Lake, Pincrest area has some really good ADV opportunities. We ran that area earlier this year.

I could ride that area again!

I still really want to ride the Donner Train Tunnels. This would be a pretty long day ride, but I am game. Anyone else? Once the snow hits, this route is off until June of next year (there is ice in the tunnels well after snow melt)

I had mentioned Clear Creek, but it is still pretty hot and dusty.

We can also ride Jerseydale/Mariposa area.

Any of those ideas stand out as mroe fun than the others?

Its all good!

It all sounds good, but realistically the Mariposa area sounds like a ride that would be the most doable for me. I would love to do the train tunnels but it sounds like a very long day or an overnighter. Just my $.02.

You know that's my stomping grounds, but unlike some other folks, I don't like to ride until after the first rain. Let me know, I'll ride.
I'm not as noob friendly as you are though.

Sunday October 24th- Cycle Specialties Dual Sport Ride

Update: We had 300-400 people at the shop today for Oktoberfest. I got to talk to a bunch of riders and most everybody is up for Donner Train tunnels. (don't worry - Jerseydale will still be there in November!)

The plan will still need some detail. I anticipate an early start from Modesto and perhaps a stop or two along the way to pick up more riders.

Stay tuned......

Yo Andrew!

Is this what you mean about first rain and Jerseydale?

I am still waiting for my forks, but you and I will be chasing each other thru the hard stuff soon enough!

I heard it is raining in the hills today!

The little bike is in the shop, getting ready for a week in Baja at the end of the month and the big bike is wearing street shoes for the summer so I'm out for this weekend too. I will need a shake down run in a couple of weeks though.
What happened to the pic you were taking when I ran off the side going up Briceberg?

Where's the pic of the crossed up wheelie while sliding the rear around the corner that got me in that situation?

The way you tell the story sounds a lot better than my photos show!

Nice,
That's what I get for showing off, too bad that part isn't recorded. You got every bit of the bad part, but none of the silliness that got me there.

Thanks, that made me laugh.
